Some advice or just tell me its nothing please.

I have had my rottweiler pup for two days now and as predicted by many he's trying to chew everything - he especialy likes the carpets!
This doesn't really bother me too much but when anyone goes to stoke him he instantly starts to chew the fingers, and twice he's nipped me in the face, naturally I would like to stop this behaviour very quickly. I know he's only playing but my daughter is becoming wary of him and thats not conductive to a happy home.

This is normal, though unwanted behaviour. Puppies don't have hands to explore with so they have to use their mouths. They just have to learn to do it gently! If you do a search (top right hand corner of the screen) and type in "Puppy mouthing" or "Puppy biting" you will find loads of previous threads on the subject.

I would recommend you buy a copy of "The Perfect Puppy" by Gwen Bailey. It is invaluable for all puppy owners!

There is an informational thread dedicated entirely to this problem at
http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/board/topic_show.pl?pid=91595;hlm=and;hl=Biting%20and%20mouthing#91595

You will need to copy and paste as I can't get the link to work
