You find somewhere to park where you wont sink if its mud!!!
Go find the toilets
go find the bar and resturant........

No you go into the show groud, find out where the catalouges are if you have pre-orderd one or want to buy one, then you find your ring and wait untill your breed/class is called.  When you are called by the stward you will enter the ring (with your dog!) and go and ask the steward for your number (this will be in the catalouge or if you can't remember you can ask the steward!  Once you get the number you are now showing your dog!  Line up with the other dogs and do as the judge asks!

I hope that is clear!

You dont need to hand in any papers - dont worry :)
go in , give your name in and the steward will give you a number and then simply set up your crate if you have one , get catalogue if you want one and wait for your class :D
and GOOD LUCK !!! :D

At my first show (Champ Show) I parked as instructed and found the nearest friendly face and said " can you help this is my first show and I don't know what to do" and they , bless their hearts, looked at my paperwork (Champ shows only) sorted my bench number and then took me to it and helped me bench my dog. Then my dogs breeder found me and took me under her wing.

Things are more casual at Open shows, park the car, leave the dog in the car and find the toilet, then find the place that has the catalogues and collect or buy yours. Walk around and find your ring (there should be lists on the walls and in the ring) when you have sorted yourself out collect dog from car and take for a walk (don't forget the poo bags) the find somewhere to sit near your ring and dry the dog and prepare for the ring. if in doubt ask, 99.9% of the people you meet will fall over themselves to help you also to watch what others are doing helps, remember that the steward (the person in the ring that is not the judge, the one who shouts out the next class, is there to help you and the judge, so tell them if you are confused and it is ok to ask the judge to repeat what they said, or go to a show just to watch first if you can.

Good luck - but far more important enjoy

Jackie is right - just admit you don't know what you're doing & 99.9% of people will help - but don't ask them just as they are going in the ring. Enjoy!

When I steward at a show if anyone says it is their first show, I try to help them and make instructions as clear as possible. All good stewards will do this. It helps us run the ring for the judge.
What breed and show is it? There may be a CD member here who will be there and willing to help.
Enjoy your show and good luck!
