Can any of you's give me some advice? my bitch has came into season for the first time ane 9mth, i would like to know how long she will be in heat for? she is a dogue de bordeaux and i have male the same age,  when do you think i should seperate them? thanks

I seperate mine immediately as i think it is unkind to the dog to leave them together and then take them away whe the bitch is getting near ready to mate.

She will be in season for at least 21 days, so keep your male separated from her immediately until she has finished. Have you a friend who could take him in for this time, because he is going to get very upset at having an in-season bitch in the same house and may even turn nasty.
