Hello
I stupidly forgot to post an entry with a closing date of 7th April until yesterday evening.  I am quite sure it would not have been collected until today.  Does anyone know how strict secretaries are about a couple of days?  It was posted first class so should get there before or at the same time as any second class postings.  I wouldn't normally worry but we have planned a weekend around this show so I'll need to cancel the hotel if we're not accepted (which won't go down very well!!).
Thank you
Alex

Most secs. don't worry about a couple of days, infact most will allow up to a week.  This is manily because they want your entry and money!!!!!

If you don't get in then the sc. will send back the form and cheque so you wil know.  I am assuming you back dated cheque and entry form so they think you sent it on time and got lost in post ;)

P.S never send LKA champ show in late as you will get it back!!!! :)

Thanks Rox
I didn't realise they sent them back.  I just didn't want to get to the show which is quite a long way and find out there we weren't listed!!  I'll assume we'll be OK and get a bit more organised :)
Best wishes
Alex
p.s. yes I did backdate form and cheque :)

They will send them back because therwise they could cash the cheque!!!!!  They send it back or youto rip up (or some do phone and give you the option of you tearing up the cheque or they will do it!!!

It's still always an idea to phone up the secretary before the show just to make sure but the liklyhood is that they will take your entries and money as it all helps the clubs out!!!

Good luck for this show anyway!!!

Which one is it?

Sorry I'm at work so in and out of internet (until we're banned completely that is!!).  It's Bath championship show and thanks for wishing good luck - we'll need it.  I hadn't ever shown this time last year so still find champ shows very daunting - but good practise so I'm told :)  We've never been to Bath so thought we'd have a nice long weekend away as well!!
Best wishes

Hi
I've rang up show secretaries on the odd occasion I've posted late and its always been fine with them :)

I think most secretaries will allow about 5 days for 2nd class post to reach them, so if only a day or two out, sending 1st class usually catches them.  If more than 3 days, you can often get away with ringing the secretary who will (if theyve had a good day or are feeling generous) allow you to put in an entry over the phone, and then stick the cheque straight in the post.  Of course, they are under no obligation to do so, but many are good sorts - till someone abuses it.

<<<<<<<<<<till someone abuses it>>>>>>>>>

Thats so true, sooner or later they will stop doing it won't they :( Owell!

Bath is a lovely show to go to, tho it was better when it moved to may due to foot and mouth and didn't rain!!!  Everyother time I have been to Bath it has rained, been muddy and I have resulted in carring my dogs (setters and aussies are not the easist to carry!)  Still it is a very nice show with normally a good atmosphere!!! :)
