Does anyone have a receipe for Bread and Butter Pudding, I haven't made it for years and can't remeber how to make it,the shop ones aren't the same. I've looked in my cookery books but they don't have it. Also Bread Pudding.

No help I know but I love Bred and Butter pudding, think my favourite one is with apricots but then I love apricots come to think of it I love food. :)

Wow definitely going to try the Delia's Choclate B&B pud it sounds wonderful.
Lindsay, are you using enough eggs in you recipe? I usually use 2 large ones to 3/4 pint of milk & cream mix.
Jackie, I love apricots too, so will give them a go next time, thanks!

Haven't made that one - but have made Delia's recipe for 'ordinary' bread and butter pudding - delicious :) :)

What about bread pudding ?? Must being going senile as I can't remember a lot of my favourite recipes and I can't seem to find plain old fashioned cookery books they are all fancy ones.

Well if my memory serves me right the old fashion ones my Gran made were bread & butter with dried fruit and sugar and poured over was an egg custard. Well that is how I used to do it.

I tried Delia's Choc B & B Pud yesterday for family gathering and it was delicious.  I hadn't bothered to read the recipe thoroughly and missed the bit where it said 'leave in the fridge for 24 - 48 hrs before cooking'!  I risked it and it didn't seem to matter a dot!  Yummy.  I added Tia Maria as well as rum just for variety.

This will definitely go on my list of indulgent but yummy puds.

Thanks for the recommendation.

It's a goodie, isn't it :) - definitely better for leaving for a few hours at least though, as with all bread & butter puds - it seems to make the bread fluff up more.

It fluffed up brilliantly, I had left it to stand for a couple of hours, as I do with 'normal' B & B pud.  I chopped up a whole bar of galaxy and added it in large chunks between the bread which was lovely as it stayed whole throughout the cooking.  The top was crispy and the inside light and fluffly.  It got 10/10 from my guests!
