Hi would like some advice, i've been offered a Doberman bitch 8 months old, fully vaccinated and spayed, i already have a year old rottie bitch, do you think that it would be a good idea to get her, her owner is moving away and cant take her.

My sister has a 7 month old dobie bitch, who is fantastic.  Mad but brilliant :)  She gets on with all my dogs really well, the only thing is, is that she wants to play constantly, and Molly ( Staffie) at nine sometimes finds it a bit much.  She has also become a kind of surrogate Mum to Chloe, and she is sometimes a bit too much.
If your rottie is very tolerant then I can't see there being any problems.  If you know this dogs temperament is fine and she is well trained I'd say go for it, I'm biased though because I fell in love with Chloe :)

Mia my rottie is very tolerant with other dogs, my friend has 5month old pups and when ever we go there they always play with Mia and they get on really well, Mia can even withstand the pups trying to hang on to her ears  i'm so tempted to get her, my friend was going to put her in a rescue centre and i couldnt stand the thought of that, she leaves to go to america at the end of may but she says if i want this bitch i can have her on friday.

Better wait for some sensible advice from dobie people - but my instinct would be go for it :)

If you have regular meetings with mia and the dobe at different places in different situations over the coming weeks and see how they get on .why are they in such a hurry to pass her on if they are not going till end of may?

My bitch is now 10 and a half months and is great with other dogs .I take her to play with a 6 month rottie bitch once a week on neutral ground and they are fine .

It would be a shame if you had to give her up once they had gone ,take your time and make the right decision.

Mia has had regular meetings with this dobe since they were both able to, she isnt really in a hurry to get rid of her in that way, she just thinks that if i take her now then dobe will get used to being with me before she moves away, and plus she can keep an eye on her.

think its a good idea what you said about them meeting in different situations, will get her to meet me with the dobe on friday in the park or something.

My first instinct is to say no as they are so close together in age but as the Dobe has already been spayed and you therefore won't get the seasonal or maturing problems it may work.  Just remember that two young dogs are not 2 x 1 as you may think.  They are more like 20 x 1 :D
