now I'll probably spell this wrong, but my eldest dog has started getting a bit stiff in the evenings if she's been swimming or got wet during the day (and yes, of course I towel her off etc when I get back from a walk).
So it's been recommended that I try giving her some.... Glucosamine and Chondritin (spelling??????) - where's the best place to obtain it?
Cheers, Di

When my old lab needed Glucosamine and Chondroitin I bought it from Healthspan in Jersey - www.healthspan.co.uk - on the advice of my vet - much cheaper than buying it from them and exactly the same stuff.

Brilliant - will try them.
Did it work for your old lab - I'm not expecting miracles, but would like to think I can make her more comfy when she gets up in the evenings.

I bought mine at Holland & Barrett, they often do offers on it too. It is very good for an elderly dog whose movement isn't as supple as it once was. It was actually recommended by my vet.

Also, did you buy the 500mg Glucosamine / 100mg Chondroitin, or the Gluc/Chon/MSM combination.
What rate did you give them to your dog - I see that they recommend 3 tablets per day for humans

Di,
I buy mine from www.zipvit.co.uk (less than a tenner for 360 tabs) and I give Norman half a 500mg every other day as recommended by the vet :)

Also stock this. I know because I'm waiting on some coming for my "old bird" Asti along with Royal Jelly for Mia.

I bought the Glucosamine /Chondroitin and mine was on two tablets a day, one didn't quite do it, I would try one first and increase to two if needed.

If she's insured you can get Cosequin from your vet which is Glucosamine/Chondroitin. Pretty expensive but good. Also from health food shops, or www.natural-animal health do Cortaflex, which is a liquid Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. Works very well on people too (they do a human one).
