I've used the Shampoo on my poodles. Can't say it's been better than other varieties although the perfume does stay for quite a long time after the wash. However, my dogs don't have skin problems so maybe it does help with dandruffy coats?

Yes!
Last June, Mia had a big big coat drop and so with trepidation I tried Quistel. I washed her twice weekly for 3 weeks and then once a week after that. I would say her coat definitely came back quicker but I was also using Royal Jelly & also Flax Oil capsules with her too, so hopefully it was the combination that helped!

>The primary function of Quistel is to increase the blood flow to the surface of the animals skin>
What is in this shampoo that makes this possible please? (curious to know as I have a dog with cold ears and he needs some coat on them)

I think you'll find it's the massaging of the shampoo that will increase blood flow to the skin but this would apply to any shampoo. Can't see that there is any specific ingredient that would automatically increase blood flow to the skin. Quistel do have a web site so maybe that will explain it?
Jesse
Found this on the web...pity they can't spell properly :D
>Quistel is made from the following ingredients: aqua, sodium laureth sulfate (shampoo), allium sativum, darcus carota, linum usitatissmun. magnesium chloride (shampoo), magnesium sulfate (lotion) bellis perennis, anthemis nobilis, viola tricolour, absobic acid, propylene glycol, niacin and arnica montana.
Which in English means water, shampoo, Garlic, Wild Carrot (which should be daucus carota!) Flax (should be linum usitatissmum!) Magnesium (x2 :)) Daisy, Chamomile, Viola (like a pansy) Vit. C (should be ascorbic acid!) propylene glycol (not sure what that does but they use it in antifreeze!

) Vit. B3 and Arnica (a plant)

Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake ! Maybe the spelling mistakes should be made clear to the Dutch manufacturers :-) as all the information came direct from them :-)
I have trailed these products on one of my girls whom after whelping, her coat was in an awful state, so tried this and can say what super results, with her hair growth, within a couple of days you could visually see the small hairs starting to appear. Worked for me, and can't say enough for it.

Here is the reason that "propylene glycol is used in Quistel and Actigener products" http://www.tomsofmaine.com/toms/ifs/propylene_glycol.asp
The magnesium x 2 :-) explains that it is in two formulas one for the lotion spray (magnesium sulphate) and the other formula for the shampoo Magnesium chloride
Hope this clarifies and helps everyone
Take care

Quistel themselves have their own website: www.quistel.co.uk
I have to say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.....as long as there's nothing I would unduly worry about in the ingredients, it's always worth a go!

Ditto that Lily Muster :-)
That is just how I came about using their products, I even use the Actigener products myself, I am totally hooked, I was at first thinking yeah another doggie shampoo, I bet it will be like the rest, Ha ha, well I was surely proven wrong, thats for sure :-)
Robert & William at Quistel are always there to help and explain any questions you may have day or night, email or personal call, this again swayed me to give them a try :-)
not many companies would offer you that sort of personal care.

When I went in and spoke to the lady she asked me to go back and let her know wgat results we got from it.There was no pressure selling/..infact she had a very much 'your choice' attitude. She did say that the first 10 trial bottles they sold they had had a good feedback and that one lady had been quite choked up about the results.
Will let you all know how we get on

I have just had a look at the testimonials on the site...very impressive!! The pictures of the westie are amazing!
I have got to say that after just 2 days the dry skin seems to be 'disapearing' fast...I'm imoressed at the moment.I'm going to go and get some of the shampoo tomorrow
Thanks
Archer

Archer can I offer some real sound advise..
Quistel shouldn't be used with any form of chemical type shampoos etc ( Just so you all know for future reference), as the chemicals will kill off all the goodness the Quistel is doing, (so basically washing your money down the drain sorta speak )
What I did was to wash my girl ( as I said she was in a bad hair loss, with black elephant type skin in places, her teats were thick and black to, and this was just from caring for her pups, had no signs of this elephant skin condition before hand ) three times a week, leaving the shampoo which I formed up and left on her for 10 mins, then with warm water showered her off, leaving her to drip dry, getting the best from the shampoo.
In between bath times I use the Quistel spray twice daily, but can be used unlimited, as there are no side effects. YOU really will get the benefit more by using the shampoo and the lotion together.
I am so pleased you have seen results before you very own eyes...and one happy dog to boot :-) If you need any advise, please feel free to drop me a line or PM Me, only to happy to help if I can :-)
Take care and best of luck

Hi there Christine
You're munsters will have the cleanest ears around..LOL I promise ;)
Fancy a testimonial from wonky woman with Munsters, well I never....LOL
Hi Karen, :)
thanks for the link, it was very interesting. I'm sorry, I wasn't implying that propylene glycol was harmful, I just didn't know what it was for and knew it was in antifreeze. :) and I didn't explain the magnesium as I thought it would explain itself, I was just being lazy by saying x2 :D
Sorry I was jokey about the spellings too! I'm into gardening LOL Yes, the Dutch have no excuse for their spelling of the plant names. The reason plants have Latin names is so that there's no confusion of species on an international level. I thought your page was very informative (which is why I linked to it ;)), sometimes it's hard to get good info on a product and find out what the ingredients are and what they do. :)
Kath. xx

Hiya there Kath,
Not to worry all happy campers here :-) and many thanks for your thoughts on how informative my webpages are. I have to admit, I want to know whats in anything I use, and I thought it best to let other people aware of it to :-) So they feel comfy with the products.
But I have been an changed the spelling tho....LOL ;-)

Hi Archer,
I was wondering how your dogs are doing on the Quistel. My girl is having a bad time with her skin. She isn't scratching but it's flaking and dull. Also she's losing lots of hair and her coat looks very thin and patchy (just in time for the champ show :( ) I have tried REvening Primrose Oil, Sebocalm baths with Baby Oil rinse (as directed by the vet) I don't know what has caused it but we've had it for about a month or so now. She's 12 months old and has had a phantom prenancy.

Funnily enough I ordered some of this in the week, having read about it on this thread before. Had a lovely chat with the man at the UK distributors, he has a parrot called Dawn, dontcha know :-D
I can't wait for it to arrive, having exhausted most of the options so far with Millie's itchy and flakeyness, and I've promised to give the nutty bloke a testimonial for his website if it works!
