When i take the dogs out for training etc im limited on what i can take out, but after seeing the vizlas on saturday and seeing that their breeder uses a gamebag to carry all his dummies, ive decided that after all this time and working for a shooting man before this job that it had never occured to me to use a game bag to carry all my dummies/balls etc, thought and tried of rucksack but dogs tend to jump up back for it and it makes getting dummies out awkward, the dogs are used to having things carried by my side and ignore items there, anyway where is the best place to get a gamebag, ive looked on the John Rothery site but they dont have any prices, i dont need a huge bag one big enough to carry 3 or 4 dummies at a time is ample, any ideas? there is a huge lack of shooting accessory outlets in my area and i dont really wish to travel miles out of my way for one bag so internet is best
thanks

Take a tip, buy the large size! That is the one I use. I get 6 dummies easily in the bag and in the net I keep a towel for use after water training, a starting pistol, a tanned rabbit skin and a bottle of water and half a dozen tennis balls. The shoulder strap is nice and wide to spread the load.
My one complaint is that it uses velcro to hold the flap close. A puppy gets to notice the tearing sound of velcro, particulaly when you are trying to be quiet so that was the first thing I removed! (You dont need it anyway) Apart from that they are very good bags.
Best wishes, John
Hi John, glad to hear you also have a problem with the velcro. I think Honey can hear it from half a mile!!!I now fold the flap back about five minutes before I do any dummy work, otherwise the moment she hears that velcro rip open, she's glued to my leg and watching every move.
Tanya, I have the large waxed one with the front net from Turner Richards. Like John says, it's a bit like Mary Poppins hold-all. Also it's handy to sit on (empty) if the ground is damp.
From one very excited gundog fanatic (did very well at yesterdays test)

I actually unpicked the stitches and removed the velcro.
Another use for the bag is to place over barbed wire for protection if you need to climb over ;) or if your dog has to jump it. (Although I train an "Under" command for squeezing under the wire)

Edited.
Just seen the last bit of your post Lorna, WELL DONE!!!

We bought our game bag at the game fair last year for £11 and it doesn't have velcro. We also have a "dummy bag" which is pretty good as it's the same colour as the green dummies so we never lose it when we put it down.
