We have a 18 month old male boxer who continually cries when we are out. We have had him since a pup & he has grown up with a female boxer of the same age & we have always gone out to work. Although people told us that he would grow out of crying, he hasnt & seems to be getting worse. He is driving the neighbours mad! Our female boxer does not act like this & just sleeps when we are out.

How can we stop our male from crying?

What was the reasoning behind the theory that he would 'grow out of it'???  He needs to learn that being with out the centre of his universe is not as distressing as he seems to believe it is.  Slowly, (literally seconds at a time) teach him to 'sit' and wait until you return - do not return when he's making a fuss, but don't leave him long enough to start to get distressed.  It also helps if he learns not to follow you around the house.  Some dogs do well when provided with a crate, which becomes their own private space - this may be worth thinking about, so long as it's not used for prolonged periods.

try giving him some thing to do when you are out for example one of them balls that has food inside so his mind is on the food and trying to get it out, not on the fact that you are not there. i have a boxer and all she thinks of is food.
