Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / A bridge too far?

My six month old lab puppy has suddenly gone on a sit-down strike when it comes to crossing either of the two foot-bridges across our local stream. He's walked across them before occasionally, but has suddenly started to refuse point blank. He hasn't had any bad experiences in the area, or out walking at all, come to that. Do we just forget it for a while, and try again in a week or two hoping he's forgotten, or should we manage the situation more actively? Thanks!
Cathy.

He's at the start of his 'teenage' phase - rather than get into a battle with him, I'd be inclined to manage the walks to avoid these particular points if possible, before it becomes an ingrained habit.  Then when you go back (perhaps with another dog he knows well?) use the other dog to show him how easy it is to cross, and make sure he gets a BIG reward when he does it too.
