hi my friend has asked me to help her find a staffordshire bull terrier stud dog?but needs to be around leicestershire area she has a red staffy pedigree and kc shes looking for a red or white, or red and white dog..also this is her first time so can anyone tell me what price shes looking at for stud dog,and how it works papers etc. hope you can help.Also due to someone letting her down she only has about 5-6 days left to find one??   thanks for reading this     jo

She has left it far too late! :(  Has she had all the necessary health checks done on her bitch? She has obviously not done the research needed to breed a litter if she has not got a suitable stud lined up at this stage. It is not a case of "I've got a bitch I just need a dog" - she needs to find out what lines are suitable and which dog compliments her bitch. Breeding should not be a spur of the moment decision - years of research needs to be undertaken first, and she needs to be prepared for heartache and 3 months of round the clock hard work.

spoke to my friend tonight she said shell have to miss this one.she did have a stud which let her down at last minute her bitch is on day 6 i think she said so shes gonna wait till next time any way.she had researched and had tests it was' nt spare of the minute thing thats why shes so pissed of it was through friend of a friend which she wont be doing again ........jo

Not sure I am mis reading the posts but are you not in the process of mating your own bitch can you not advice her. Would the experienced stud owners you have lined up not be able to help?

no my my bitch is pedigree but not kc and the stud dog im using is the same and the other one i use is aswell so no good for her her staff is kc and good blood lines wt=ith cackerjack and rogue saga etc. im doing this only once with my bitch then im having her done but im no longer working and would like to look into getting a good bitch to go showing now i have time and do a bit of breeding.im breeding mitzy due to temperment etc. and friends will be having her pups because she is just a darling every one loves her .Ihave told her to ring mrs vann to see if she can help shes secretary for east mids staffordshire bull terrier club weather she does or not i dont know she didnt seem to keen.

I think most breeders *could* help, but whether they *will* is another matter.  Personally, I would leave unregistered pups from unhealth tested parents to the puppy farmers and concentrate on trying to give advice to the people who do their best.

          i didnt want stud dog for mine?lt was my friend, im not breeding mine now and my friend is going to wait till next season now any way shes going to ask about at this staff show were going to in may.thanks anyway
