opinions please !!
my daughters friends family bought a puppy two weeks ago and i asked what it was. a staffie was the reply! oh right where from i asked, a mate was selling them for £200 so we bought one. Is it KC? its a pedigree they gave me a thing with names written on it was the answer. Ok so not then!
Its a boy she says, thats nice i said what made you choose a boy? cos my friends have all got girls and we thought it would be a way of making some money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so angry!!! we have a kc ped staffie, and we put up with looks and ignorance, and we have actually changed alot of peoples minds about them, they could not believe how friendly and placid she was, especially with kids. Now all our hard work is in jepardy!!! looks like in a couple of years our town will be flooded with non ped staffs.
We have gone out of our way to ensure that when we breed it is done properly and all health checks have been done, and she had no apparent faults and we have a KC affix and the stud has been chosen with care.

Does anyone else share my views or has any comments, i just feels so bad that half of these future pups will probably end up in rescue centres through people not having a clue!!
She has now even said that he is such a pain and she wishes she had a girl instead!!

they have existed for years and years and will always continue to exist.
All you can do is try to offer advice and hopefully bring her around with your knowledge and experience but theres an abundance of staffys around here who are mated with no due consideration of health, temperament or looks :(
But I know how you feel because it annoys me too.......

we are hoping for another later this year and the first thing that springs from anyones mouth when you say we are hoping to get a bitch is "Oh are you going to breed"?

I know there are lots of people like this around, its just that she knew we had a staff and i could not believe that she did not ask anything before she bought it! i would never buy any breed of dog without researching it first! (although i would never have any breed apart from staffs !!! (:)) )But thats just me, they are the dogs that we like and thats our choice.

Unfortunately some people dont think they need to ask advice as they see a dog as just another possession, so what's there to know ? :rolleyes:
