Hello Everyone,  My 12yrs old Staffie Tessa has just been diagnosed with Anterior Lens Luxaction in her right eye with a 20% risk of Glacoma and Blindness also her left eye has Vitrous Degeneration. The Opthalmoligest did all the tests for Glacoma etc which thankfully she does not have. Eye pressure 10 in her bad eye and 15 in her other one which Vet said is low High is over 50 I think she said. I am still in shock and nothing seemed to register. She has to be monitered every 3 weeks at first.
                       The Vet reckons an operation to remove the lens is the only option but is only 65% successful and at her age is a bigger risk etc The cost she reckons about £800. Tessa was my eyes for quite a few years (iritis & cataracts in both my eyes) so I am now been given the chance to be hers.
                        I have only posted here a few times (feeding forum) but I always read the messages. I have another Staffie who is 19mths called Charlie and 3 cats. Tessa is still playing, eating her Nature Diet and going to the park etc and is her usual bossy self it was just I noticed her right eye watering a lot and i couldn't see the iris now I know why because the lens has fallen in front of it. I want to stress that she is not in any pain at the moment and as long as the eye pressure stays OK the risk of Glacoma is low.
                        My 6yr old cat died suddenly of a massive heart attack 21st Dec last year in my arms and now this. Tessa is fast asleep and snoring but I'm wide awake so I decided to share the above.  Deard

My dog has similar problems to yours so I know what you are going through.
My boy is 2 and is blind in one eye with glaucoma, he has retinal dyspalsia in his other eye but this is causing problems as well, we are hoping laser surgery will work to save what little sight he has left.
Its really hard to come to terms with as owners, I am finding it really hard as he is so special to me.
