My Bitch is on her 61st day today and has been off her food most of the last 24hrs, tonight she has started shivering and turning round biting at her belly, then she stops and falls asleep! lol her temperature has been at 37.4 since Monday , Could this be the start of labour? do I stay up or go to bed? this is her first litter and mine so I am not sure how close we might be now.

Hi Steph & Tara
Looks like we are both in for a long night! Holly started shivering about 7pm her milk had also come in today. I thought Tara must have had them by now! It takes so long I can barely wait! I want to push and pant for her lol! Keep in touch between whelps!  Best of luck to you girls!

Hi again, shes doing the same as her 1st litter keeping me up for the fun of it lol.. I rang the vet 3 times he said everything is fine and the 1st stage can go on for a couple of days (omg) i feel so sorry for her now..But she is starting to strain quiet well now so everything looks ok.. cant wait for the 1st then if like last time she was quick having them.. If i were you go and have a nap your gonna need it, i had 3 hours earlier, got one of my sons to watch her for me lol. well i will let you know what happens.. TTFN.... Steph and Tara

Still no puppies! We had a long night of shivering & setting the alarm every hour or so to get up and check! Holly has got strings of mucus this morning though when she goes out for a wee. No panting yet though, I don't know whether to be excited or worried! will have to keep watching & waiting. Jo & Holly

Hi it does sound like she is getting ready my dog mitzy started shivering and nesting 19hours before she had her first pup but all bitches are different.
Keep a close eye on her and hopefully she will have them soon.
Good luck and please keep us posted of her progress.
