Has anyone heard of bathing a wound in epsom salts as an alternative to salt water?
Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,
There are certainly many uses for Epsom salts, and it's been used medicinally for a long time. Other link. I think, taken internally, it is a powerful laxative (never wanted to try!)

Thanks Jeangenie
This was recommended to me by a homeopathic vet who I trust completely.  I can't get in touch with him to check I heard properly and need to change the dressing tonight so I think it's probably safer to use plain  salt water as normal.  When I next speak I'll check this if anyone is interested. (I'll probably find he said something completely different and will write things down next time). :)

Sorry was replying to your initial post which has changed - unless that's me again - I'll read the links with interest, thanks.

I used to use Epsom Salts many years ago to bathe my horses leg when she had a flare up of lymphangitis.  That doesn't help you much but it just brought back memories.  It certainly did the trick :)
