MY 16 yeek pup started from sticking one foot in water bowl. Then both feet and now finds it necessary to go and start digging an trying to get all feet in the bowl before compleyly emptying it and then carrying bowl into lounge to us. Our kitchen floor is now permantely wet!!
it so funny seeing her stood in water bowl but should i be concerned???
I don't know a lot but i would say you don't want her to start thinking its a game because you might not be able 2 get her 2 stop later. Try saying No firmly when she starts doing it.

My cocker spaniel used to do this when he was a puppy, almost like he was trying to dig all the water out of his bowl, he eventually grew out of it, I must admit it did look funny though :-)
my puppy also used to do this but grew out of it, it was hilarious, she used to have a large bowl, both feet went in and she used to dig.

Theres a high possibliity that she will grow out of it. Have you considerd a "non-spilll" water bowl as these will not enable her to put her feet in (well she might be able to!) But its might save you the hassle of tryinging to keep the floor dry!

It's really strange reading this as my 14 week old cocker pup did exactly this last night for the first (and hopefully the last :-) ) time. My other cocker , who is two now, never did it at all. It was funny to watch but I did say no and after a few tellings he stopped. He was having one of his mad half hours, so he was over excited and hopefully it won't become a habit :-)

Is it a stainless steel bowl as maybe pup is seeing their reflection in the bottom and trying to play..... Os used to do this and after a while we swapped to a plastic, non spill bowl - no more water world now!!! :-)
My pup hasnt done that but i did bring his empty water bowl in last night as we were going somewhere, he knocked it off the sofa, saw himself in it and spent the next half an hour jumping on it and barking at it. Didn't tell him off because it was empty but if there was water in i would probably have told him to stop hehe

Hi I think most pups do this for awhile. All mine have and all of them have grown out of it after awhile :) They find something else for us to clean up worry about or to train them out of :D Gillian
Another water digger here! Well....not me, you know what I mean!
We think its the reflection in the stainless steel bowl that's causing it too.

My 1 year old chocolate lab has been doing this since she was a baby!
She loves it, but she adores water too. She dives into puddles and streams, anywhere there's water.

LOL glad to see she's not the only one!!
No, its not a stainless steel bowl so its not that she's looking at herself!!
She still find it necessary also to climb up at sit on hubbies lap......a 16 week GSD is very heavy LOL but so is a 5 years old fully grown one too........ my husband may be big, but he's struggling with them both of his lap, and its affecting his tv viewing badly!! (he he)

Ahh it's a shepherd :-) Otherwise known as a water baby! Mine's a shepherd too and I swear that he thinks he's a fish as he goes mad when he sees water!
