Is it illegal for a child to sell animals and who's to say this man is really a vet ? Seems really odd but maybe thats just me being cynical ?

( sorry- link doesnt appear to be working  )

Hi Lel,
I saw it in the paper yesterday - no way would I be selling that puppy - how can they know where it's going to end up.  When I recently advertised a friend's litter on the internet for him, there were genuine replies, but also loads from Africa and the US wanting to buy the puppies for thousands of pounds.  Without even seeing them.  I can't even begin to imagine what is going on, but I never replied to them, and I feel sorry for this little black lab pup.  Can't believe the owners - must just be interested in the money.

Not sure what age he will be travelling - it did mention that it would take a while to get him ready - so maybe he has to have certain injections and then tests or whatever - not sure what their importing laws would be over there.  Probably the boys parents have no idea what goes on - to be honest I don't exactly - just the underlying feeling I got from these emails I was getting myself.  Prospective buyers willing to pay thousands for a puppy they hadn't even seen, doesn't make sense.  I think these people should have second thoughts!

OMG that's awful.  Obviously the local press think this is something to be congratulated!  :(  Don't they care about the future of this little puppy or that the breeder only seems to see pound signs rather than a little black bundle of fur who will be scared and alone when travelling all that distance to end up god knows where and for what reason!  It makes me so mad.

It would be different if they knew this person, but doesn't sounds as if they do - he just contacted them by email after seeing the ad.  It's too easy to just say anything when you're that many miles away - how do they know he's actually a vet with a 21 year old son who wants a puppy.  Maybe I'm just the suspicious kind!
