If you mean she started diarrhoea the same day or next day after worming, the answer is yes.  It should not last very long, however.

I used Drontal on my Gordon Setter once - it had the same effect on him, and it lasted for days - so never used it again - from questions I asked at the time on here alot of people had that problem with Drontal, seems to be a common problem, but there are obviously alot of people who get on fine with it! He now has Milbemax ( from my vets ) and has been absolutely fine on it.

Drontal gave Alfie bad diarrhoea too, so I also have switched him to Milbemax which gives no problems at all.

Milbemax may not be ideal for collies as it contains milbemycin oxime which is similar to Ivermectin. Gillian

Gillian the puppy has been fine with the Drontal its the westie who has had the dire rear. It seems more settled today. Hope you did well at the show

I would NEVER use Drontal again, after very nearly losing my 10month old labrador last year. Please put in Drontal in the search option. I think you will find many people who've had the same experience that I had.My vet has stopped using it and now uses Panacur.
Hope your Westie is doing ok now.
Best wishes,
Val

Yes Rosie is fine now she had  the runs for A couple of days though Funny how dogs react differently the puppy had no problems. I will be sure to let the vet know the next time no Drontal for Rosie thanks

There are problems with some dogs using Drontal and again, problems with others using Panacur so it's a matter of try and see which suits the indevidual dog. I've just used Drontal on Anna and had just a couple of slightly loose movements then back to normal.

Best wishes, John

I agree, I have never had any problems with Drontal with any of my dogs; that is not to say that it does not suit some dogs just as some humans cannot eat certain things etc.

I agree that it depends on the dog....My youngest dogs litter were all given panacur and one of the litter had a bad reaction, the others were fine. I would suggest using the brand that they had from puppyhood. (although saying that I did change to Drontal so he could have the same as the same as my bitch!)
