Izzy Davidson takes on rescue dogs and puppies and at the moment has a litter of seven, 4 day old border collie x rottie pups who have lost their mother. Izzy is having to handfeed the pups and is absolutely desperate for help.

If anyone out there can offer a bitch who could help bring up these pups, Izzy would be extremely grateful.

Please feel free to cross post this mail to any list or person you think may be able to help.

I have contact number if anyone can help, please pm me.

Try contacting Donpipique Canine Whelping and Hand rearing.
Tel 01945 450440/450820,
Mob. 07949 950393

They should be able to give you some help and advice on rearing the pups and may know of any surrogate bitches.

Good Luck

Well i am dissapointed in you tcarlaidh, whats done is done the person put on a please help plea not comments about the cross breed or would you rather the pups be put down??? there are lots of things i see that i don't like eg only yesterday i saw a pet add LABRADOR PUPPIES 20 of dog lover reg. What a joke and those poor puppies what are the chances of them finding good homes??? Some people don't have a clue that there bitch could have got pregnant. I know of someone a few years back whose bitch used to run off all the time i saw her and took her back to her owner and looked like she was gonna burst had to tell him do you know katy is expecting??ohh no i didn't was the reply. He thought she was just getting to fat. But they did find homes for them...You have more chance of finding a home for a few pups not 20 or me as this was advertised and they had other breeds advertised on top of the Labs.

Oh dear I am distraught at the thought that you are disappointed in me stephanie1964. Perhaps you have hands on experience of this cross and consider a guarding breed crossed with a herding breed a  good mixture, both have a very strong desire to work. IMO it is a recipe for disaster and by the way I am entitled to express an opinion on this board.
My apologies but I can not comment on your post about puppies as it is rather confusing, do you mean that a Labrador gave birth to 20 puppies????

These puppies are rescues & not bred by the person asking for help

This is an update

"The puppies ARE rottie x collie, but they are two and a half weeks old.....NOT 4
days. There were 8, sadly 2 have since died. Also, they have come to Izzy is
pretty awful condition and they are under treatment from her vet. A couple of
the pups are suffering from some sort of respitory (sp?) problem and it's been
advised not to put the pups in with another litter.

The facts, as they are, can be got from Izzy on 0191 3892775"

They will be rehomed very carefully by the rescue. This is NOT a request from the breeder of the puppies

Oh & yes I have experience of a similar cross that in the right home made good dogs & they came to me for training with their owners for a normal period & because they were trained corrrectly were no problem to their owners

Moonmaiden I would just like to say that I have no problem with the breeder and accidents do happen but as I am sure you will know they will not be the easiest of dogs to home and will need people with plenty of experience, which is why Izzy will be taking great care in her choice of new owners and I hope that they are going to be ok for her sake.

What I do have a problem with is Stephanie1964 jumping on me for expressing an opinion on an open forum.

READ my post IZZY is NOT the breeder she is part of a rescue that has taken on these motherless puppies
- By tcarlaidh Date 29.03.04 16:57 UTC
Excuse me?????? I did READ your post, now you read mine... I am not suggesting that Izzy is the breeder
