hello,
probably a daft question, but is there anything at all that can be done about my girl's urine destroying my new little bit of turf?? I seem to remember a thread ages ago, but cannot find or remember it...thanks for any advice.....

Yep, they do that!
Actually some bitches are worse than others. My Bethany was one of the worst whereas Anna has little effect on grass.
Obviously the problem is worst in summer when possibly the only real moisture in the lawn is the urine and at that stage almost any dog will burn the grass. The answer at that time is to have a bucket of water handy to pour over the urine immediately after it has been deposited. This will dilute it and help to reduce the burning.
Apart from the burning, the next problem which shows is for a green algae to form on the surface of the bare patch and this seems to inhibit the growth of grass. I've not found anything to neutralise it :(

Hi this may be a daft answer to a "daft question". I read recently that a tablespoon of Tomato juice on your dogs food will neutralise the effects of urine on your lawn. I have never tried it but so would be interested in your results, good or bad!

thanks for advice, I think I'll fence off the patio as it's a decent size.
