Well, the last puppy from Tam's litter went to her new home this morning.  I had told a couple of brothers but I was not going to sell her to them and was wondering where on earth I was going to get a home for her.  I had a phone call then yesterday from a young couple.  They seemed very nice on the phone and they were very genuine.  They came over immediately and to my surprise it was a boy I hadn't seen for over 4 years but we used to work together.  I knew then that this was going to be a perfect home for our little girl as he is a very patient and kind harted boy and his wife immediately picked her up and our little pup curled up in herms and went to sleep.  I was chuffed to bits that I didn't cry.

There is only one problem IT'S TOO QUIET!!!!! :)

Boy, do I know that feeling!  When we still had about 5 pups left from our litter of 14, I was going crazy!  I was swearing I'd never breed again, that 14 pups was just too much to deal with.  But when they finally all went to new homes, I cried like a baby.  The house was just too quiet without all of my babies!!!

I, too, know this feeling. A breeder is so sad to not hear the pups padding down the hallway together or hear them barking and carrying on outside, but yet, a breeder is so happy to know that those pups are having wonderful lives of their own and they are getting all the attention. But, heh, I knew I couldn't stand it and so I kept one of the beautiful pups. So even though the house is horribly quiet, it still has a bit of that puppy charm. =) In the future though when more litters might be bred, I know I won't be able to keep a pup from every single litter, so I'll have to let them go. :( But its still a good feeling at the same time! :)

I think it helps when you know the person who has them and you have this feeling of trust.  The woman who has the dog pup is a close friend of mine and her son goes to nursery with my son so I do get to see him quite often.

It's surprising how that 'puppy' smell lingers though, just like the baby smell.
