Hello,

We are looking to buy a Bull Mastiff but we are moving to Spain and having read some literature, some do say that they are not good in the heat? Can any of you advise me of this?  The dog will have a great home with loving owners but we do not want to make it hard for the dog.

Any help anyone can give me will really be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Nikki, i have Bullmastiffs and if you make sure the dog has some where cool to to go into when the heat is at it's worst then it will be fine, has your house got air con? i am sure it will, you will just need to be that bit more aware that the dog could get over heated and keep it as cool as you can, best of luck.

I am moving to Spain shortly (I hope) and I am taking 3 Bordeaux, 2 staffs and a bulldog.
I think as someone else said you just need to ensure your dog has plenty of shade and always a supply of cool water.
We are hopefully going to be getting a small air con unit for our kennels there.
