I have been using a halti on my (now) 3yr old X breed dog for around 6mths. During that time it has become apparent that when he is on the halti and he sees another dog his reaction is so much more agressive than when he is just on his lead and half check collar. He was a rescue dog and although we have ironed out an awfull lot of his bad habits, pulling on the lead is still a problem at times (hence the use of the halti). I have seen a few harness's about and they appear to be a lot kinder than a half check collar and it would seem that they would give far more controled freedom than a halti. I obviously still need to be well in control of my dog, but wonder if the fact that he will have nothing restricting so to speak around his face/head will make him feel less vunerable. I have seen one called a Kumfi stop pull harness, does anyone know if these are any good?

I have tried this one on my springer and it did nothing, so I was not impressed. Others may have had better luck though.
I used one for when my girl was uounger, and it was good but would not stop a strong puller. It does mean walks are better though, easier for the owner in some ways....i used mine to walk my dog from A to B, and the rest of the time she was on a normal collar and lead when i ws training her to walk nicely.
I have heard great reports about the Walkezeee harness.....

Thanks for your replies. As we are all too well aware there is a vast amount of different dog collars, leads, harness's etc. It gets quite baffleing at times (and expensive when its wrong) to know which to get! Its well worth getting some feed back on items before you go out and buy. As with most of these things I guess some work better for some dogs and not at all well for others but thanks once again for your comments. Has anyone else experienced their dog feeling more vunerable when wearing a halti or is it just mine? I'd be interested to know.

Hi
I've also tried harness and haltis, but nothing worked on my dobe also a rescue who had not been lead trained :( but i use the Gentle Leader which is heaven for me, sams caused my arm irriversable damage one longer than the other, good luck :)
Thanks for that sammie. I have actually got two rescue dogs. The newest one is a staffie x greyhound (I no, sounds impossible, one must have stood on the curb while the other remained in the road!) And the one in question is a gsd, boxer, lurcher x thing. The vet thinks she can pick out about 6 different breeds in him (his mother must have been a floosy of the night). I walk them separately, but on different sides just so the arms stay the same length!!, much longer, but still the same length. They are both totally different characters but are so affectionate, I wouldn't swap them for the world.
