Can anyone suggest anything to remedy my dog's smell. I understand that dogs do have a certain aroma, which of course is fine. However my dog sometimes, for want of a nicer word, stinks :). I keep the house very clean, as he moults constantly, but sometimes the smell cuts right through and is quite bad. I do bath him occasionally, but I have to be careful as he has sensitive skin. Baby Wipes were recommended as a way to keep him cleaner, but this does not help the smell, and to be honest are quite useless. I have also tried a Dog Scent Spray, but this only 'masks' the smell for approx 20 mins and then it comes back, possibly worse, as though the spray triggers it. Again I understand that dogs will smell like dogs, but this seems to be worse and I was wondering if anyone could recommend something. Thanks :)

Dogs should not smell to the extent you describe, have you spoken to your vet as it would seem your dog has a problem. You do not say what breed but I assume you researched before you decided on the breed so it would seem there is something wrong.

Then I would think the hound has a skin problem, had it have been an otterhound my thoughts may have been different.
