Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / JWB food for a weimaraner?
- By Guest [gb] Date 26.03.04 13:27 UTC
I have been feeding my 18 month old weimaraner bitch on Pedigree since she was a pup, however her poos are quite runny and she has never really done a 'hard' poo.  I am thinking of changing her food and read somewhere that James Wellbeloved would be the best one to change to.  Recommendations or experiences?

If you are changing for a particular reason eg to reduce the amount of ingredients etc then I would probably look at Burns complete first prior to JWB.  Alternatively have you considered Naturediet which is a wet food, meat rice and carrots.

I agree with Tohme :-)  I have 2 weimaraners both changed onto Burns about 5 weeks ago and boy what a difference to what comes out the other end :D  Would definitely recommend it and they absolutely love it !

Hi,

Personally speaking I like JWB great results, less poo and it doesn't smell, the dogs I have on in are in excellent condition with super coats so it gets my full vote.
However what suits some dogs may not suit others but once you found a good quality food that your happy to feed and dogs look great you tend to stick with it.
Royal Cannin is another excellent food that seem to produce very good results.
Good luck in your search:-)

I have heard Burns is good put my 2 weims enjoy Arden Grange and its BUAV approved too.  I tried everything with the older dog as he didn't seeem to put weight on with any dry food I tried.  However AG changed that and he is a healthy fit 7 year old now!
