I am the guest that posted about the smelly dog - just as a matter of interest, how often do you think I can bath him. He is a basset hound, has sensitive skin, but like I say, stinks :) sometimes. When I first got him I was told no more than 2 baths a year, then I read on a good internet site that bassets can be bathed 2-3 times a month. Personally I wish I could bath him every day in the winter when he comes back from the fields with more mud on him than outside ;). Never mind though, that is just my wishful thinking :). So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is he stinking or is it because of where he has been that is stinking, join the forum and tell us because it make a big difference to how you attempt to control it.

You do have a breed that can be naturally more 'smelly' than others. You can eliminate the pungency by ensuring you give a thorough rub down after walks too. I bathe mine an 'average' of once a month, however, she doesn't have sensitive skin. What sort of walks/exercise areas are you taking him/her to? Why not join the forum and give us a few more details so we came help you more.
