Have just found out my dog is a Patterdale and have been reading all the comments. Bonnie seems a little different to the others, she is extremely and I mean extremely shy and just sleeps all day.  She is not active at all, although she does love to walk.  Is this normal? Thanks.

For a Patterdale NO, they are usually hell raisers, either it is not a Patterdale or it is not typical and you must have said your prayers very well.

Jackie is right, usually they are great fun and VERY active.  Are you sure its a Patterdale?  Could there be something wrong with her?
Dawn.

I know this is a while since thsi was posted, but ive only just seen it.

I have a Patterdale and this is normal. He will sleep in the house, as soon as he hears his lead though, he's there like a shot. He is very energetic off the lead, and calm and sweet at home. :D

I have friends with Patterdales, and there's are excactly the same :)
