Anyone watch it last night ? must admit its the first one thats made us jealous just because of the land you can get for your money, although I didn't like their choice of building a new bungalow when their were so many really nice old properties over there.

Love this programme too :D I was off to live in the renovated farmhouse........;) OH looked a bit startled, but I never said I was going to take him :p
We liked the the farmhouse too :) but we liked the bungalow on the huge plot, I can just see the dogs flying around there all day.
We're so tempted an uncle of mine moved over there about 3 years ago and hasn't looked back.

Hi ,i have to agree it was a beautiful area ,living here in the south east the land would cost four or five times of that shown last night ,and you would be hard pushed to find views like those too , i just love watching people live their dream !!!!! wish i had the guts to do it ! Bye Sue & Lola xx
Talking of living their dreams, anyone watch grand designs after it ? I think he must be the most content person i've ever seen.
I was jealous of him as well :)

I missed it :( Our tv reception is so bad its not worth watching any channel except 5 on terrestrial. Last night on the cable there was blooming football on that OH whined pitifully he had to see because it was Chelsea and Arsenal! He's a blooming Everton fan for cryng out loud!! He even said oh go on, I don't ask much to see football

No, but we live in a bookies where At the Races is permanently on

So I eventually gave in, sucker that I am. I feel UK Style when they are doing a whole day of buying a posh house programmes coming on :D

I just love location, location, location. I would love to move somewhere in the country. I was going to live in Wales as the property is cheaper and I would like to be mortgage free. Went there last year to Maesteg and Porthcawl but still have'nt made up my mind what to do. Its such a big step and if I did'nt like it I would'nt be able to afford to move back. Will just have to dream about it for now and watch location, location to drawl over the lovely houses they look at. They all seem so much bigger than mine.

We decided to just bite the bullet and move to the country 2 years ago. We moved from Basildon in Essex to the Cambridgeshire Fens and we LOVE it !. We swapped our suburban bungalow with a 50ft garden for an old farmhouse in 2 acres surrounded by pear orchards. With the rail links to London my OH can still commute to his job in Vauxhall
( although he is knackered by Friday !!). The dogs have a fabulous time they never have to be on leads as we can run them on our own land - mind you we had to wait till the kids were grown up - there's nothing for teenagers to do 'in the sticks'
I'm SO jealous, its funny how things change when you get a dog we've only had a dog for about 10 months and now we've got 2.
Before we had dogs we were really happy with our little low maintainance suntrap back yard, now we'd kill for your old 50 ft back garden let alone 2 acres :) I grew up in a house with a pear orchard :) i'm getting all homesick now :(
Perhaps its time to bite the bullet and move.

we lived in Wales in the national park lived in a little village called
Blaenavon and i could make a flask and sarnie up and take the dogs two min walk from my back garden and i was in the welsh hills and you could walk for hours and hours without seeing anyone, the dogs loved it hardly ever on a leader , if the sheep had their lambs we then used the leashes, otherwise we roamed for hours and hours it was bliss.
Sadly OH got another job offer and accepted it and we had to move it has taken me over a year to get used to living in a town again and i really really really miss the country, and we are saving hard , so when in 25 years time he retires we are off back there.
might go earlier if i win the lottery lol and i will by a plot of land or convert a barn and my life will be complete again.
Carol
Oh stop it Carol :( or i'll start crying :( and everyone in work will think i'm having some sort of breakdown :D fingers crossed for the lottery :)

We moved for the North East to the Cambridgeshire fens near Wisbech heart of the fens 7 years ago because property prices were so good here and 55 mins into London from Peterbrough also easy links to the A1 for travel to shows, the only trouble it is such a long hawl to the scottish shows, but we retired down here after my husband had a 2nd heart attack, and it was nearer to Papworth hospital, we get more sunshine and easier winters, we partly went to get away from the kids but they all followed exept one, daughter number one lives in the house next door but I know I could never move back to the north East.

Hi Britney
I live in Elm near Wisbech - look for me round the Belgian Rings at the local shows - Affix is Gron-De-Mon. I think the Fens are a Englands best kept secret fantastic for dog people and like you I'd never move back.

" but I know I could never move back to the north East. "
ah but where in the north east did you live? We live in the north east and LOVE it. We are right on the edge of the Cheviots, in the National Park. Only two other cottages here and only a handful other hamlets in a 10 mile radius. Walk out the back garden, along the burn and you are in perfect dog walking country. I'm from the North West originally and never thought we would find as beautiful a place, but we have.

I came from Darlington in Co.Durham, I like to go up for a break and visit my mum and dad not after a few day I cannot wait to get back down to east anglia, it is flat ground so brilliant for my husband, Near to some beautifull coast line. and very central for most of the shows, we seem to have milder winters and longer summers. I like to visit Darlington but it just seems to get bigger and bigger with more houseing estate's every time I go back. I suppose I like to quiet life.
