Does anyone out there Know what the average hip score is of a dogue de bordeaux bitch. Also how long does it take for results to come back.

Not good I'm afraid Cloe, BMS is 23

The BMS (Breed Mean Score) as at 01.01.04 for that breed is 25. 
The results table reads as follows;

These breed mean scores should be read in conjunction with the current BVA/KC HD scheme procedure notes.  Breeders wishing to reduce the risk of hip dysplasia should choose stock with scores WELL BELOW the breed mean scores (BMS)

Depending on when the vet sends the xrays off to the BVA- I would think a week- although some wait until they have a few to be sent and batch them together.  The longest I've known is a month :-)

Where did you find that score Stacey? The latest I could find was 10/10/01!

Trouble with them is that there are so few scored that one really bad score could push the BMS right up!

Well I have an 03 did not know the 04 was out, will have to ask for the list.

I had Kassie scored and they sent me a list of all the breeds as at 01.01.04 with her results :-)

Like you say- trouble is if they look bad/not good most vets advise not sending them- people then don't send them- therefore we never get a true average :-(

Has your Bordeaux alread had her hips x-rayed, if you's has not I would advise you to get her elbows done at the same time a saves haveing to put her under twice. I had Britneys done last year and had the results back in 8 weeks, her's came back at 5:6 elbow excellent Which I an please with. We take the male up in the next 2 weeks hope his is a good
