i found lily playing with a tooth yesterday (one of the medium sized side molar type ones). i wasn't sure if it was an old baby tooth of hers that she had found somewhere or a current one so i had a poke in her mouthand discovered that she has a really large gap along the side of her lower jaw with no teeth there - behind her fangs she has 2 knobbly tooth bits poking through the bottom of her mouth (they're set in a bit further than the rest of her teeth) and then no teeth for ages (2.5 - 3cm gap - and she only has a teeny jaw) is this normal ? i'm a bit concerned cos the gum on either side looked a bit chewed like they do when they lose teeth. help me ! (she's 8 months)

well she's definitely lost 2 teeth, a pair of premolars, but i've no idea why she has 2 teeny teeth side by side behind her canines, she doesn't have enough teeth and the ones she does have r in the wrong place :(

If you are sure that it is not that the milk tooth has come out and what you can see it the crown of the new tooth growing through, then I would take her to the vet and let them look as a 8 month pup should not be shedding adult teeth.
Don't worry if you are not sure the vet will put your mind at rest if it is just normal shedding and will not think you are mad.
