every now and again rosie my westie puppy, goes mad, i mean she just runs wild round the house nipping and diving at anything or anyone who gets in her way, is this normal? when she has had her mad time she will flop down and have a sleep...
she is four months old.....

My Malamute is 2 years and 3 months old and weighs 46 kilos ..he STILL does that :) :D

It's one of the highlights of my day watching Sparky round up the trees in the back garden. :)

I agree. I love mad half hour in our house!! They have so much fun, and I have just as much fun watching them!! It's better than the telly!!
Obi is 5 months and does this approx twice a day, the kids know to sit/stand still when he does it - at least he is fairly small, well, compared to a Malamute! :D
Yep Glazby is 2 and he's still doing it!! Its really funny to watch him trying to do the back stroke in the middle of the living room floor before running up the stairs and then dragging himself down them with his head against the wall and his back legs out behind him!! He then usually boings off all the sofas and legs it round the coffee table like a mad thing!!!
The After Dinner Loony Session is what we call it!!!

Kirra does it too. In fact, just last night she was doing it and the roommate in the bedroom under the living room was quite unimpressed. I just let her run herself out cause what else was I going to do? Try and stop her. Once she gets going, if anyone even so much as twitches in her direction, she'll bark and think they are playing so she'll get even more wired.
This "Mad Time," doesn't happen all the time, but right after a bath it is guarenteed. You guys are right, it is better than TV.

i loved watching my 2 shih tzu's have there mad half hour , especially now as they constantly take the MICKEY out of my dobe as they run under tables and chairs and have went under the ironing board which was a nightmare to catch on time when dobe tried it , as she always tries things once.
Got a head made of concrete i think,

she is at it now, just wish i could get her on camcorder, lmao
Hi
Yes, absolutely normal. Mine do it, always have. I just have to watch the beardie - he does it after eating but the breed can be prone to 'bloat' which can be fatal so I have to keep him in for about 30 mins after eating before letting him run around and 'bum tuck'.
