My husband's nephew is getting married in May. As he has been living with his fiancee for quite a while and they have just moved house, he is asking for money as a present. Has anyone an unusual idea for 'wrapping' the cheque ? We are staying in a hotel the night before, so the idea must travel well :)

How about inside a balloon?? (though you would have to let them know, if you put it inside one of the "fancy" balloons :D )

We once received one, as a housewarming present, wrapped around a brick, which was wrapped up!

I once got my other half a ticket to fly a plane. It was a christmas pressie and as we were newly together and his dad was ill, he had to travel to Ipswich whilst i stayed at home with my parents. So i wanted todo something which would raise a smile. I wrapped the ticket in an envelope, then in a small box, then in a blown up plastic bag, and in lots of other things, all a bit bigget than the last and all wrapped up carefully so he didn't know which was the "real" pressie when he got to it :D It did raise a big smile apparently and i would def. recommend it for a change :)

How about in a nice box, with that kind of 'filling' stuff you get - sorry my mind's gone blank what it's called!   but it's like strips of tissue paper (you can get it in card shops) to fill out the box, with the cheque inside.  You get lots of really nice fancy boxes around, John Lewis had some lovely ones.

How about in a nice box with a couple of bottles of scented massage oil for the honeymoon ;)

Please keep the ideas coming :) Have a fair amount of time to decide what to do :)

As they are asking for money from most people, they are going to get a lot of envelopes, so want ours to be something different as it's hubby's favourite nephew :)

How about framing the money/cheque in a nice photo frame, then there's no chance of it getting lost and they can put a wedding photo in it afterwards?

I like the idea in a frame!!!

What aboutFinding a toaster box or similar (normal prezzie you get a weddings and will only ever use  on out of the 5 you get) and just put the cheque in that, nothing else!  Plain, simple, but its the box that it comes in thats important ;)

Daisy,

Put it in a little box then wrap it up.  Then wrap it up again.  And again and again and again.  Put in a slighlty bigger box and wrap and re wrap again and again.  If nothing else it'll give them something to do if they fall out on their honeymoon  :D

HI daisy
What a lovely idea to jazz up the envelope..are the sort of couple who have friends round for meals ..what about putting it in a board game,,,balderdash or something similar or one of those murder mystery packs where all the guests have to arrive as acharacter great for the newly weds to catch up after the wedding...
Or what about inside a wedding guest book so all the guests on the day put a little note ,verse of good wishes to the happy couple so that in years to come they will look at it with fond memories ...pop the  envelope inside
Or what about a gardening kit....Pots ,tools and the like with the envelope hidden inside.
Or a living "flowercard " from a good florist which is an arrangement and the Card to say who it is from  could be the cheque in a sparkly envelope and that could be sent to the reception or to ther home in advance
Hope you have a wonderful day at the doo janx

Please keep the ideas coming - as it's not 'til the end of May, I have a while yet to decide :)

We have very little idea of the couple's likes and dislikes - nephew's fiancee is Dutch - we haven't seen them for nearly 3 years - hubby and his brother aren't very close and although we like the nephew, we only saw them about once a year when they were children :( Wedding is going to be quite posh, so can't do anything too OTT as we would never hear the last of it :D :D
