Well my not so long ago son(age 14..nearly 15) has changed into a 'Kevin'.
He has become disrespectful and thoughtless and a total ####
He spends every hour not in school with his girlfreind with me ,of course, playing taxi driver and bank!
He was grounded tonight for his bad attitude and has sneaked out of the house and disapeared...don't know if I'm more worried or angry

Oh Archer, you poor soul :(  Angry is much better, after all he knows where he is so he won't be worried ;)  Seriously, you have all of my sympathies.  Have a big glass of wine and await his eventual return :D

Are you sure its "your" son and not mine ??? :D
- By jackyjat [gb] Date 24.03.04 20:06 UTC
no lel, its mine!!!  Surely.

Ooh suddenly realised it can't be, mine doesn't have a girlfriend this week!

I'll swap you!!  Whilst I sit quietly at the computer, reading emails etc, with 2 dogs fast asleep at my feet.  I have 2 teenagers creating World War 3 upstairs. They are screaming, slamming doors, blaring music, throwing things at one another and threatening physical violence. At which point I will have to step in. OH is due home any minute after driving for the last 6 hours, God help them if this is going on when he walks in. I dream of a quiet, peaceful house with no teenagers. But the youngest is only 13 so I know I have a long way to go.

I wonder if I'll miss them when they leave home or will the house be too quiet! Bless 'em!

Same here, a complete madhouse..............3 hormonal girls 15, 13, 11 .........luckily our son 8 is still a mummies boy..........but for how much longer I ask myself :-(
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 24.03.04 20:43 UTC
Oh Niki, I am sorry you must be worried, wouldn't it be nice to lock the door :D
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 24.03.04 20:53 UTC
Oh-oh - this is the start..... at one time you just worried about daughters, now, as I know, you have to worry almost twice as much about sons.    Just hang on in there - and eventually - maybe in 6 or 7 years time, you will get "your" son back!!!

Margot :D :D

Oh great Jackyjat does that mean he's got rid of the little c*w?
- By ice_queen Date 24.03.04 21:01 UTC
Well all you mums out there complaining about your teenage kids, my mum doesn't have to worry about me, I'm an angel at 16 and always have been!

Mum might say different!!!! ;)

LOL  My sympathies, its a bit of a shock when it happens overnight.

When Trollgirl turned 13 we sat her down and gave her 'the talk' (no not 'that' talk ;) which is what she thought too :D )
She was told she had a choice for the next 7 years, either she could become a 'KEVIN' and we'd all hate each other and be horrible to each other for 7 years or she could act the way she would like to be treated and so would we and we'd all be friends and kind to each other for 7 years.  But it was HER CHOICE and we'd just behave accordingly :D

On the whole she chose to be treated as grown up as she could so she was only a Kevin occasionally :D :D  any lapses were treated with "OH MG - its Kevin - ARGGGH" and both of us lurching round the house shouting "Its not fair!"   etc.

It seemed to work for us, she managed to avoid most of the truly awful stuff - oh and the neighbours think we're bonkers :D

Regards
Dill

My son of 20 (almost 21) is the worst, he still hasn't mentioned Mother's Day so very sarcastically tonight I said, oh I'll take my cards down, (this is in front of him)....oh dear I only appear to have three, to which he replied yeah the one I got you is in my room do you want me to get it!  I was and still am speechless, needless to say the card still hasn't materialised!  KIDS

This is deja vu for me after Gothboys exploits the other week :D Lock the door! Mine appeared cold/hungry and too bloomin crafty as he pushed the key out the lock with a garden cane to get back in. I had my revenge needless to say " this night or the next". With the males it always seems to be raging testosterone connected to a girlfriend that makes them want to dis their Mums. Isnt it funny how we would notput up with this nonsense from our dogs but pussy foot around teens? I find I have to put the foot down quick and keep it down for about a week each time on a dominance reduction programme - no money unless earned, no going out, no Internet until the homework show parade is over etc. Bo-ring! Mind you Gothboy is easy compared to Satan Filly, and the little ones follow like a set of dominoes if the older 2 start pushing it.

Harriet, I believe it was the other way around.  I came in from work the other evening to find him sat infront of the computer.  Appearances led me to believe he hadn't been to college that day and I was just about to launch into my tyrade when he said "She dumped me"!!!  As you can imagine, I could hardly contain my joy and said my condolences through bitten lip.  I have found it very hard not to say how nice it has been since she went.  He's been a little downhearted but has reunited with his mates which is good to see.

Let's hope he's learned a lot!
