Topic Dog Boards / General / Crate advice, Rosewood -v-CanineKennels?

Hello, I've been looking very closely at both the Rosewood and Canine Kennel crate, for my lab pup.  Does anyone have any personal preference on the above two?  I know Rosewood crates are very good, but Canine Kennels.com seem to be good too.  Does anyone know what exactly makes a good crate? Both of these crates would cost me about £65.00.  Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks, Jo.

I recently bought a galvanised crate from gwdavies28 on ebay - they do actually have their own company, but sell cheaper on ebay. I got the 36"24" 27" crate for £35 plus £6 p+p and I'm really happy with it. It's 2 door too. Go have a looksy, they're great for the money

I can recommend Canine kennels- everything I've ever bought from them (leads, collars etc etc ) are great quality and value :-)  From the sounds of things if they're both the same price and quality- go for the one that's closest to you :-)

Never had a Rosewood,  but looking at them they seem awfully overpriced compared with, say Croft, who do a high quality product too.  There is so much choice in this market, it is hard to do direct comparison just on size as they qualit and "heavy duty factor" vary so much.  Batleys, the wholsalers, do a range of very economical crates (only 1 door) which have galvanised trays and seem very durable, if you know of anyone wiht a Batleys card.  The westie/cocker size one is only about £16 + vat and the largest size (which looked enormous) is under £30 + vat.  Of course, these are wholesale prices..

mine are Croft. They will also regalvanise them when they start to look shabby, and for £15 you get them regalvanised, a new base, new handle new clips and any strenghthening repairs which are needed.

hi , i had a rosewood crate and my boxer could escape from it due to the springs i then got a croft cage which is compltely unescapable and is still in use 10 years later and has had a great lot of use.

All mine are Croft, taken a bashing over the yrs but still solid. I`ve now seen in use the material ones & am going to get them. The metal ones take their toll & are heavy, there again we have to take our own cages to shows over here, no benching! :)
