My sister has found out that she is having a little girl, so we are now thinking of nice girls names for her.
I've bought her a baby name book, but it is massive, and it would take forever to read them all plus most are ridiculous!!  Has anyone got any ideas of a slightly different, but not weird :) names, that we could add to the list.
My suggestions were Scarlett and Freya.
Apart from those we're struggling, famil and friends are useless too!

my daugther is expecting a baby in 13 days (not that i'm counting down!), she doesn't know if we're having a boy or girl but the names change daily, I may have to suggest some of the ideas from here when the replies come in!

Funny you say that, we mentioned Maisie last night, but we have a rabbit called Maisie, so doesn't seem right!
I like Lily too, just remembered that one!

I like Freya but there are a few of them about up here. Vaila is a lovely Orcadian name I have only heard once, used by Northern parents needless to say. Like Dinah - dee-nah and Eilidh. Fay is a lovely name too. Happy memories of reading the baby name book to OH who would occasionally grunt in rejection. Still we ended up with good original names for the girls. Our lad wasnt that lucky as his name had a resurgence of popularity just after he was born!

Lorelei,

how do you pronounce Eilidh?  (I read it as eye lid !!  sorry!)

My daughter is Alannah (Lana).  We actually called her Laurel at birth, but the dozy nurse wrote 'Lauren' on the wrist band and I refused to have that name. (Not that there's anything wrong with the name Lauren, but I didn't want it).  Alannah came to me within seconds of seeing her - it hadn't even been on our shortlist, it just appeared in my mouth!!

My daughter Leanne was named after a good friend of mine. She was clever, humourous, beautiful and such a kind person. All that I hope Leanne will carry through her life

My nieces are called Hannah, and Maisy ( but everyone sings Maisy the mouse at her from the cartoon :) )

My little girl is called Maddie, which everybody loves and suits her to a tee (maddie Madam!), did like Grace before she was born, but that really wouldn't have suited her!  If our next one is a girl, I like Emma, Georgie, Jamie and Katie.  Names are a very personal choice, some like far out, some like traditional (my 3 nephews all have kings names!)
