Anna had her PAT assessment today and everything went great the woman really loved her and said that there shouldn't be any problems at all.I was soooo pleased with her although I knew she'd be good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed coz the decision is actually made at head office and will take 6-8 weeks. So hopefully before long I will have a PAT dog, I'll keep you posted and let you know what happens

Hi Amy

I use  one of my dogs for PAT work and it is a very worthwhile thing to do. I work with children who have severe learning disorders and Lily comes to work with me once a week. She is a 7 year old Groenendael and the sweetest most gentle dog ( you need a very special dog to do this work). The children respond to her visits in ways that we never see the rest of the time - I think that it's because cuddling a dog is a very tactile comforting thing.

I do know that many special schools would welcome your visits and that you'll find it avery rewarding thing to do. Let me know how you get on.

Well done gsdmad.  Jas had his assesment a week or so ago and hopefully in the next few weeks will find out if he will be a PAT dog.  I am really excited.

Hope you're accepted! :)
