do you have to have a medical reason to spay a bitch for showing under the rules,or

can the bitch just be routine spayed with no medical reason for showing ,and applyed for permisson to show,
i was ask this question today at a show, i do know that any op got to have permisson to show.

Hi you used to have to give a good reason for spaying /neutering to get permission to show but now its just a case of informing them that you have had your dog or bitch neutered or spayed. Gillian

In 'the old days' a spayed/castrated animal could only be shown if they had previously registered progeny. Nowadays you only have to inform the KC (no reason given - and it doesn't have to be a vet's letter) and permission to show will almost always be granted.
