Hi,

Wanted to find out if this is normal.... whats normal you ask??..well...

Took Roscco to the vet yesterday morning to be castrated, picked him up at 3pm not looking his cheerful self.. but then what would i expect :o).. hes had some drink and abit of food to eat since.. is now 25hrs since i picked him up and he's not been for a pee yet... (or 31 1/2 hours since i dropped him off)

Sorry if i seem very think but is this normal?  Before everytime he went outside he'd go for a pee...

Thanks in advance for anyone who replies

No I don't think this is normal, it could be swelling around the tubes that is stopping him or it could just be pain, I would phone the vet and ask their opinion.

As Jackie's has said please call the vet as he needs to be seen asap

Hi,

i phoned the vet alittle earlier and he says its unusual for this to happen but not to worry as the dog doesnt seem to be in any pain.

I will be phoning him again later tomorrow if Roscco hasnt been to the toilet as there may be a problem.. pain or not.

Thinking about it all, how big is a dogs bladder.. ive always thought it was compared to a peanut, yet hes drank at least 2 pints...???

I would guess that a medium-sized dog's bladder (say a labrador) would hold about half a pint.
