we got our local newspaper yesturday and as usual i looked through the classifieds, in the pet section there was an advert for an 18mth old BC papered vacs etc, and this is the bit that got me IDEAL FOR BREEDER, when ads say free to good home thats bad enough but this as well, i am so tempted to get the dog myself and find a home for him (as there is no way i could keep him) but there are to many factors stopping me, such as space and funds at teh mo, i know there are some cruel people but why if you need to rehome your dog advertise in this way there are so many organisations that will take the dog for you

would i be right in thinking most of the big rescues charge a fee to people wishing to rehome their dog? im sure the rspca do this? perhaps that is why people choose to advertise their dog for free instead as they fear the dog may be put down if they put it in a rescue centre? or perhaps they just want to get rid of the dog asap and dont want the hassle of going to the local cat and dog home and having to fill out forms etc/and or pay to get rid of the dog? there certainly seems to be a trend for throwing away dogs when they get fed up with them!!! perhaps if the dog advertised is well bred etc, he may be lucky enough to find a home with a nice breeder or owner? hope so

Frustrating isnt it? A 14 month old Akita has been in my local paper for weeks as the owner is wanting to sell him for half the purchase price. Im wondering if he hasnt been nicked, Im also wondering why the breed rescue hasnt picked him up but suspect its lack of resources. Could your work not use him for something gundogs?

id love to have him at work but again lack of space prevents taking him in, we have six kennels and 4 of the kennels have doubled up dogs in them, but if i can sort something out im going to see if i can get him, they are probably selling because he is a 'kevin' collie and not getting enough brain work.

Tanya...had a similar ad here recently for a 9 month old GSD bitch "in season & ideal opportuniry for breeding" :( I asked the rspca to look into it, afterall they are meant to PREVENT cruelty & as far as i could see, there was  a case, but apparently they cannot get involved. I then rang the person advertising (really politely;)) & tried to explain why it was wrong but the language was *%$£*!.
