Dear Sir/Madam,
My Husband & I are looking for a reputable breeder of Weimaraners. We obtained your name from the Kennel Club.
I am an experienced handler (obedience) of many years and my Husband has also always had dogs as pets.
I have always trained German Shepherds, as that was my Father's preference. I, however have wanted to own a Weimaraner since the age of 11 and I'm now 40 !
We live in the ideal house and location for this magnificent breed and are looking to buy/waitlist for a bitch puppy.
I have been told that some breeders appear to frown upon the grey colour line. This would have been my preference. However, if there is any genetic, temperament or other concerns with this colour I would be very interested to learn why. However, I am open to change my colour choice should it be in the best interest of the breed and would benefit from existing owner/breeder's expertise. We want what is best for the dog as well as us. We have planned for this new arrival with more precision than some couples plan for a child.
The planning is crucial to us, we are looking for the best breeder who can help us produce our addition to the family. We are, at the end of the day, looking for a pet. However the temperament must be good as well as having the healthiest breeding line.
She would be very well trained, socialised and most of all treasured as a pet.
We live in Central Southern England but would be willing to travel to find the right breeder and bloodline for our needs.
I would be very grateful if would be so kind as to contact me with your advice and assistance.
Thank you

Hi,
If you contact any of the breed clubs listed at the bottom of the
Kennel Club Breed Standard you will find people who will be able to answer all your questions.
Good luck.

I am sorry but I don't understand your comment re breeders frowning on the grey colour line; er it happens to be the only colour they come in? Not sure what colour you had in mind?! There are short and long haired varieties but you can have any colour as long as it is grey :D
Please contact either the Weimaraner CLub of Great Britain and/or the Weimaraner Association to ensure that your breeder abides by their codes of ethics, has the requisite health checks conducted and does not have bitches served under two years or over 7 and will offer lifetime support.
HTH

Tohme,
so glad you posted that I thought I was going mad :D

Maybe she means the Blue Weimaraner that you get in America?
I get enquires in Norfolk for Tri Coloured Weimaraners or Wine coloured.
These are dogs that are quite often mismarked.
Mismarking is very much like the tan on the doberman it comes on the muzzle,
chest, legs, vulva and I have seen several dogs with this markings.
Normally the Weimaraners with these tan marks are sold at considerable less in
price such as £100-00 and no papers or pedigree goes with the dogs.
In the uk the colour is only silver grey of course that is allowed. You may see an odd blue one as their are odd ones around now, but they are not bred here.
Some Weimaraners are more steel grey than others here, but thats about it.
By the way, only 5 miles from me their is a litter of Weimaraner cross springers going for £250-00 each. I wonder what on earth they look like. Can you imadgine a springers mentality and a Weimaraners combined. eeek!!!

To be fair, I don't see as many silver-grey weims as beigey-mouse coloured ones now. Perhaps that is what the guest meant?
