Is it just me or does everyone have problems with every large item or service they buy?

I've been spending a bit this year on kitchen units, worktops, cooker, a holiday.
Here's what went wrong:
Kitchen units: Delivery much longer than quoted. When they turned up they said I should check them and any damaged/ missing parts would be replaced within 3 days. 2 units were broken  - I told them but was told I would have to wait a month for replacements - a long time to spend with no kitchen. I did write a snotty letter to B&Q and got some vouchers from them but would rather not have had the hasle in the first place.

Worktops: Delivery arranged - took day off. They didn't turn up. Had to get stroppy with them to get a Saturday delivery as I couldn't take any more time off.

Holiday: Booked mid January. Early Feb they wrote to say there would be building work going on while we are there but would not offer a different location or refund - just what we need - a break on a tropical island with white sand, palm trees and JCBs. After a month of phone calls, letters and threats we have resolved this. We are supposed to be going on Sunday but it's now Thursday and we still haven't had any tickets!

Cooker: Arrived on time (1 month ago) but the glass cover over the lamp was broken - they said they would send another. It arrived but was plainly the wrong one although they tried to convince me it was the correct part. Since then they have sent me 2x lamp holder and lamp and a circuit board but still no lamp cover - I'll soon have enough parts for a complete new oven.

As you can see I'm wondering if I'm just really unlucky or is every supplier cr*p. If it wasn't for my long walks with my spotty friend I'm sure I would crack up!!

1.B&Q I am there with you whole heartedly ! long ndelivery time, damaged worktops and doors.

2.We had a dishwasher that came and was the wrong colour, was taken back then a week later a new one was delivered, the right colour ........ but didn't work !

The third time another was delivered and my husband had to plumb it in as they said they didn't have time to do it !

He did but forgot to take a cover off a washer so flooded the kitchen ! :D

3. Sofas. Ordered for delivery in 6 to 8 weeks , think it was more like 16 weeks when they finally arrived ! :)

4. Car. Fiat Stilo Arbath (yes I know it is a Fiat and we were asking for trouble ! :D )

We will have had it now two years this May.So far it has been in 8 times for warranty work including the boot lock being replaced twice, rear window replacement, scratches from the replacement of the rear window resulting it a respray, rear spoiler replacement because of paint bubbling, oh yes and the lastest one... we are waiting for it to go in next week to have the whole steering wheel and column replaced ! :D :D

So in a word, NO, it isn't just you ! :p

I bought a very expensive laptop from a very good company, I thought they were supposed to be the best (not sure if I can name them, but if I tell you they make the VAIO - that a clue ;) ).  It lasted 14 months of light use then died, I sent it back and was told I needed a new motherboard and processor,  and it would only cost me £600!!!!!! :(   They also said it was impossible to tell me why these two main components had failed and as my warranty was only for 12 months there is nothing they could do about it.

I'm not a happy bunny and am still trying to get some kind of compensation from them, though I doubt I'll get anything.
