After 7 years of lost contact, through ChampDogs, the owners of Ollie - a dog I bred in my first litter - have contacted me.  I've moved, they've moved and I haven't seen Ollie since he was almost 2 (He's now 9!).   As this is the only male left from that litter (2 have been PTS, another 2 in England are castrated) obviously,I want to check out how he's matured etc.

His owners live in Paisley, I live east of Perth, so I need a good meeting point, halfway between the 2 locations.  I thought of Stirling, does anyone know of anywhere it's suitable to let dogs run free in the area?  Somewhere picturesque would be good for photo taking!

How about Stirling Castle?  I would imagine you could let the dogs out in the grounds there, but you could always phone to find out.

That's lovely that you've managed to get in touch after all this time.  Let us know how you get on.

Stirling Castle sits on the top of a hill!

I'm thinking more forestry commision land or similar.  Loch Lomond is just a touch too far.

Dogs can go up hills, can't they? :D :D

Sorry, that was my best idea.

Earl,

Have you seen Stirling Castle's locality?  One kamikazee Munster going too far would be one splatted Munster!

We couldn't have that!  Haven't personally been to Stirling Castle.  I'm told that there is a place called Kings Park in Stirling thats good for people with dogs and also Bridge of Allan University has acres of land.  One of the guys I work with used to live there, so I asked him as he's obviously more knowledgeable of the area than me!  :D

Anne,

Is Cochrane Park easy to find?  I have never been to Alva so I have no idea!

Yes very easy, it's on the main road from Stirling through Alva on the left hand side coming from Stirling. We have a lot of Beardie events there and there is plenty room for walking dogs :D
