Dudley was in kennels for the first time last thursday (loved it was happy to stay :D ) i left his food for lunch and tea (burns with a bit of tripe) with them as they dont have burns.

In my eagerness to collect him i forgot to bring my food tubs home, missed him :-)

He is in again today (leaking water pipes at home, more workmen ) and will only have lunch we will get him after work.

When i dropped him of this morning with another food tub i got the one i left back.  there was still dry food in  so i presumed they forgot to give him his tea.

Anyhow enough waffle (you will soon be asleep :D)  I weighed the burns and it was his full days allowance but the tripe had gone.  Can now only assume they fed him different dry mixture instead of mine.  When i collect him tonight if there is still food in my tub should i say something and ask if they have fed him and if so with what?

The kennels are very good and I know friends who speak highly of them, so i dont want to appear stroppy.

thanks

Lou

There is nothing wrong in asking at all.  It will put your mind at rest and there may be some perfectly reasonable explanation.  Just ask casually did they feed him his burns or do they feed other food just so that you know for future reference as you will be wanting to use them again more than likely (just throw a line in to their advantage) and it's just that you would like him to stick to what he likes by way of food.  I would certainly ask though.

Definately - I would ask too, after all he is your dog and they should be feeding him what you supply (after all its saving them money).  If they aren't following your instructions about this what else are they doing??  What if he was intolerant to other dog foods?  at the very least it would give him the runs!   Just remember YOU are paying the bill and you are entitled to know what is going on.

Could he have not eaten the Burns out of choice, just eaten the tripe, and they returned the Burns for you to use another time?

hi

thanks for all the replies.

will ask if they hand back a full tub.  you are right i'm paying for their service and this is what i want him to eat and as mentionned he could be intolerant to other foods and could have had a reaction.

challiepud he loves his burns and within a few seconds it is wolfed down :-)

the tripe is mixed in with the burns and the dry mixture had no tripe or slobber remains :D

there were 3 other doggies there today so he will be happy, but its strange going home at lunchtime to an empty house. :-(

engineer just arrived leaking water pipes is not going to be fixed easily, ho hum.  Left OH and my dad with the guy (Dad has lots of brains unlike OH and me who would just nod and agree with the guy)

thanks again

They should feed him excatly what you state as how do they know if it isn't for medical reasons ? I know you would have told them if it was but you instructions should be followed or a reasonable expanation should be given :)

Well i picked sir up and they had fed him my burns....but not all of it.

They only gave him half, even though i did say this is his lunch i will feed him his tea.

So lessoned learned, smaller tubs with labels on for lunch and tea. :D

At least he was happy and content.

He will be back in the kennels soon, pipe work will take at least 2 days, (waiting for date) and then after that carpets will be cleaned.

Though i'm not sure if i'm ready for him to spend the nite there :-(

He spent the evening farting and sleeping, which was off putting when you woke up to find him on the bed  with his bum in my face :D :D :D
