Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Adivce for my bitch
- By Guest [gb] Date 17.03.04 19:02 UTC
My bitch had a mating on sunday, after this her season slowed right down as she had gone 13 days into it.  But today after a run in the woods and travelling in my partners van she started to spot more than usal and a little more heavy than i could recall last time she was in season.  Could this be a problem or is it the normal thing to happen after mating her. Any advice will be much appreciated. thankyou.

Perhaps she was mated by another dog while she was running in the woods?

Would think that more than likely, bitches once mated are happy to stand again, most are keen to do so, wonder why the guest let her run in the woods.

Some bitches will do this after being mated.......they appear to go off then come back in again.  As for the other reply........The guest was only asking for advice.

As we were not there we don't know what happened, but it could well be she acceped another dog, the guest asked for advice we can't give we can only say what we think may have happened.

Okay, I'll rephrase.  Sometimes bitches start bleeding again for a while after being mated - perhaps a dog got at her whilst she was, as the guest puts it, having "a run in the woods"
