Hi guys mitzy is on day 55 of her pregnancy and is acting really strange she wont eat anything and i think she suffering from constipation as she cant got for a #2.
She seems very depressed and is wanting me near her at all times She is heavy breathing and if i give her a treat she will try hide it in her bed.
I am worried she is going into early labour if this is the case what are the chances of survival of the litter as i been told that before day59 the pups would be too weak to survive. What could be wrong with her?

Any advice greatly appreciated

How many matings did she have
are you going by day 55 being a first mating?

The best thing is keep your eye on her, keep her quiet and
if you are in any doubt as to her health ring your vet.

Give her some sloppy foods to loosen her up that may be a reason for being depressed and
breathing badly she could just be blocked up.

The heavy breathing could just be down to the puppies size now
depressed  again down to the pups and being uncomfortable.
The burying is a natural instinct to hoard food for after the birth.

You know her best though so if you think she needs a vet then take her.
Best of Luck and I bet by next week you will have forgotten all the panic :-)

HI mitzy was mated 19th of january and only had one mating she had an ultrasound scan on the 23rd of febuary which was 35days after mating this confirmed she is pregnant.
She is now day 56, she started eating again yesterday tea time and has eaten well today i have been taking her temp this morning it was 99.7 i took it 10minutes ago and it was 101.5.

Her abdomen is going mad with the puppies moving they are moving around and kicking and it looks funny as you can actually see her abdomen move lol.

She is passing urine more than usual is pooping abit more than usual her temp seems fine and she is well in herself apart from being a little restless but she gets like that sometimes she is just wanting to be near me all the time and wanting her belly rubbed so things seem good.

I have been told that a bitch can whelp from 58days do you guys think everything is going well.

My vet told me (on day 66) that as long as the pups were moving strongly all was well.

He was right.

HIya well i guess all is well as it looks like a football match is going on in her abdomen lol at the moment she is eating yet again.
She has terrible wind aswell is this normal in pregnant bitches as its fowl lol
- By naomi [gb] Date 16.03.04 09:39 UTC
My bitch has fowl wind anyway:)  Her wind actually stopped being so fowl during pregnancy.

It is funny watching their abdomen move.  When Tam was lying her side they would go hell for leather and when they stopped Jas would nudge them to try and make them move again.  Tam lover 'er would just lay there, I think she was doing it just to amuse him ;)

Good luck

Mitzy seems to bite her side when they move i think she feels like something is crawling on her lol.
She is acting very weird today she keeps coming out of her bed and coming to me then going to her bed again.
She is now 57days and is not nesting or digging her bed so i know she is not due think she is just wanting me to lay next to her bed near her.
She has not eaten anything yet she has been to the toilet but she seems to be straing alot when she has a #2 and she only has a small one which is not like her.
I have taken her temp and its 99.4 her temp been going up and down the past couple of days.

Today when she went toilet when she came in and started cleaning her vulava there was a long string of clear discharge.

Hi
my bitch was like this. Just kept lying in her bed. No real digging. Had the long stringy discharge and had her pups a few hours later.

Hi Mike,
Not sure if she is going into labour, but Noo's temp has been up and down like a yoyo. Just try to stay calm and keep a close eye on her.

Hi Kelly mitzy is doing ok at the moment she is asleep, i took her temp and its 99.0 again so her temp is going up and down she is now into dy 58og her pregnancy so not long to go.
She keeps looking at her back end when she is lay down as if she knows the time is getting close.

She's a Spanish Water Dog, hopefully it will go better than last time as I was broken into when she was five weeks pregnant although she had the pups hasn't all been good news.  Unfortunately she fell off a 6 ft. garage and was stuck there for just under 3 hours!!!  Very nervous this time and in some ways not looking forward to it but hopefully in 9 weeks time everything will turn out OK.
- By charmedagain [fr] Date 17.03.04 15:53 UTC
OMG i am sorry to hear that hope all goes smothly for you and her this time.
I dont blame your for being on edge i would be too.
Did They catch the b*****d who broke into your home And i guess she got onto the roof through the window that they got in.
Poor little thing atleast she has recovered and is doing well.
keep us posted of how she is doing

No news yet she is still very restless i am letting her do what she wants as i dont want to stress her.
She has eaten about a spoonful of dog food and hasnt eaten anything else.
So her labour must be close she is day 59 of her pregnancy so just have to wait and see what happens next will keep you all updated on how she getting on.

It was the next door neighbour!!!  Only been living here for 2 months.  It's exactly 2 years ago this month.  Fortunately the wife chucked him out the next day and then they left a couple of months later.  They smashed the patio window in, one dog went missing and returned to my parents home 2 weeks later and how Carina managed to get onto the garage roof in the first place I don't know, only knew what had happened because someone was in their bedroom at the time and saw Carina fall off the garage.
