My puppy of 8 months is so full of beans, he just won't sit still for 5 minutes during the day. Now, I know he's a puppy and this is what puppies do, and I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering if when he matures he will calm down a bit. Will he?

HI, try and establish a routine,if you haven't already. He will settle in more quickly and may calm down if he knows whats going to happen when, during the day. So: breakfast - groom- brisk walk for 10-15 minutes, a little light training, sit stay or whatever and then if he is still livelly play with him for a while. Then he should accept that you have things of your own to do for a while and you can give him his toys or occasionally a rask or bone to settle down with. Then in the afternoon another short walk, 5-10 minutes training then another good play. If you can set him a regular routine it may well help. Once he has settled in a bit more you could take him out in the car somewhere new a couple of times a week to walk somwhere "strange" and also take him to training classes. Puppies like children need to be kept busy most of the time but he should nap a couple of hours a couple of times during the day too, eventually. Its all very new and strange for him in a new home. Dont worry I am sure it will all "come together" soon.
