Good morning all,
I'll start the ball rolling for this week's weigh-in. Lost 2 lbs, taking me to dead on 16 stone (weighed myself on Thursday morning and I was 15st 13lbs then so things have gone downhill, lol). Ah well, getting there. Now lost 10lbs in 4 weeks, so feeling quite chuffed with myself.

Don't think the world is ready for me in a bikini though :-D
- By mason [gb] Date 14.03.04 14:37 UTC
me too, only lost 2lbs this week but that better than nothing so I am pleased. I think it is to do with the grotty weather and the reluctance to get out walking. Have only done "fairweather walking" this week :)  need new waterproofs, thats what it is :D Sarah
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 14.03.04 15:12 UTC
Now I am back in the land of the living - going to Crufts did me no good whatsoever & the "bronchials" came up & whupped me real bad, finished up on additional antibiotics plus steriod sprays and banished to bed for the whole week :( - and am "allowed" to use the computer again - I've weighed myself - can't remember what I was last time I weighed in - but now weigh 14st 1lb :( :( :(

I'm going back to work tomorrow (they might otherwise forget what I look like) - and hopefully, provided I make it through the day - will start walking at lunchtime.

I haven't walked a dog for a week now..... am suffering withdrawal symptoms from muddy paws.......

Margot
- By Helen.D [gb] Date 14.03.04 16:06 UTC
Sorry to hear you're poorly Margot but muddy paws ain't worth missing. My nice cream sweater that I'm wearing is testament to that :-) It's horrible though missing the "together" time isn't it? I really enjoy just escaping to the fields, just me and Sam. No kids, hubby, stress or anything. Just fresh air and CHILLIN' :-D

Hope you go on okay at work tomorrow. Have to make sure they give you lots of pampering, lol.
- By Helen.D [gb] Date 14.03.04 16:13 UTC
Hi Sarah, don't be disheartened with 2lbs, I'm really chuffed at losing 2lbs. First week was easy getting motivated but since then it's been a bit more of a struggle and I agree the waether doesn't help. What is it with dogs though? If it's raining or cold my boy HATES going out in the garden to relieve himself. We've even had a couple of instances when it's been raining heavily where we've let him out first thing in the morning and he's come straight back in, gone into the lounge and peed on the carpet :-O Monster! Yet show him a collar and lead and he'd run through a thunderstorm!
Anyway, congrats on keeping going. There don't seem to be as many of us now as there were to start off with though :-( Come on Calender Girls, we need to get into those cossies :-D :-D :-D
- By mason [gb] Date 15.03.04 10:51 UTC
Hi Helen,  Im not disheartened with my 2lbs, I was hoping that it would be more this week though :D  My dogs are the same, hate going out in the rain to do there business, and my goldie hate going for walks in the rain, hes ok if its just wet on the ground but if its coming out of the sky no way is he going out. take him to the beach and I cant get him out of the sea, I just dont understand him :D  loves swimming, hates baths and rain. My flatties hate the sea but dont mind short walks in the rain but if it gets heavy they want to head home too!!  :D   So between them I have done very little in the way of walking this week, and I want to get one of my flatties fitter as I am intending to show him this year and I think he could do with a bit of a tone up :D  But thanks for the words of encouragement :) I will get fit :)  Sarah

I've lost another 2 so that is 5lbs in 3 weeks - not brilliant but back on strict Atkins tomorrow - sort of every Monday :p :p

you have all shamed me into getting on the scales and i have to admit i've put weight on over the last few weeks, I am desperate to lose it but with so much going on just can't, some people would lose weight in my situation but me i comfort eat.  anyhow up to 15stone now so from this minute going to try my utmost in all honesty to lose some of this before i creep up anymore.
- By jeanniedean [gb] Date 14.03.04 22:33 UTC
Well I have done nothing since CD Godesses started so I am going to weightwatchers on Tues

Jean
- By craigles [gb] Date 14.03.04 22:53 UTC
that's what i could do with jean, joining a group where i have to pay and then i'll maybe get myself into gear, i am fed up with being big but never do anything about it, have a trimm maxx bike sat here next to me (all over body toner), at the moment sporting a dressing gown on one handle and a bath sheet on other expensive clothes horse i guess!  never gets used for what it is intended
- By luvly [gb] Date 15.03.04 01:17 UTC
tommoro im eating negative(fat burning food) for brekky lunch alot at dinner and a low kal meal . ill soon see if it works its been proven celery burns more kals then its worth so if you eat 80 kals worth the digesting will burn an extra 35 good isent it :P :P

Well, after two happy days at 11stone something I'm back at 12.0 today  :-(

Had a really bad weekend though - drank possibly my own body weight on Saturday night and then went for a Super Sausage Breakfast Sunday morning:  2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 egg, chips, mushrooms, fried bread and bread & butter washed down with a big mug of tea!!!

Oops!!!!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.03.04 15:55 UTC
I have always put off going to WW as you have to pay nearly £5 a week, but it is really working fo9r me, and I am not hungry.

I bought the calculator/database,a dn you enter what you eat and it does the sums, which I find better than having to write it down.

Somehow it must be the  money manager in me as i am finding that I can budget my points allowance like money.  I then think do I spen that 3 or 4 points on a bag of Crisps, or do I have a Yogurt and a large fruit salad instead?  That has really helped me substituting low cal/point items for those heavy pointed easily forgotten ones.

The plan encourages healthy eatring, as you are supposed to have 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, and a pint of milk or equivalent for Calcium.  Also you are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day.

I have had to try really hard to get anywhere near the water intake, and I include tea and coffe in that.  I am finding myself peeing a lot, but on the bonus side my wee is more dilute, so getting kidneys well flushed.

It really is worth trying. :D

At Mondays weigh in I nearly cried as the lady said I had gained 2lb, and I had been so good!

Sat down and saw that todays weight was 3lb less than last week????  Went back and queried, got re-weighed, and it gave redult as 2.5lb less than last week.

Total loss in first four weeks 15.5lbs.

Just another 4 stone 12lb to go
- By luvly [gb] Date 31.03.04 21:59 UTC
i havent been weighing myself but i have lost quite a bit of weight on this negative foods diet :)
i get up do some kind of excerise sit down do somthing for an hour and eat carrots and celery and when ever hungry i eat more negative veg  dinner eat a low cal meal and i have to have a icecream or somthing after try to find somthing 100-115kals if i you dont have a good treat a day then you will get depressed .so id rather stick 100 extra kals on and stick with it :)  later ill do 20 mins of skipping and other toning excerises and  2 jogs at night :) next week im of to the pool and once im a bit more happy ill be in the gym again . it sounds alot but its not really my jogs are about 10 mins long but it just gets metabolisum going again :D , last year i was doing so much and on a strickted diet , yet hardly any weight loss and very slow , im happy ive found somthing that works :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 06.04.04 12:49 UTC
Well going to a different W.W. group from this week, so a Tuesday weigh in.

I had been extra good as wanted to get to that 14 stone milestone.

I weighed in at exactly 14 stone, which means I lost 5lb this week, Total of 20 1/2lbs (1 stone 6 1/2lbs) since 1st March. :D

4 and a half stone to go!!!
- By luvly [gb] Date 06.04.04 12:59 UTC
thats great brainless , is it just you and me left then?
Im still on me carrots in day diet with a low cal meal and a low fat dessert . im nearly down to my goal now , probably 6 or 7 lbs and ill be happier , ive been doing loads of walking joggin , ill start swimming next week.
well done keep going come back and let me know how your getting on :)
- By Drai21 [ca] Date 06.04.04 16:41 UTC
I seem to have plateaued at about 154lbs, but I have been running for 1/2 hour and then doing abs and weights for another 1/2-1 hour. I feel better and I look better.  I actually have an almost flat stomach, (the motivation being a belly button piercing in a couple of weeks), and I am more flexible, and can actually run for a full 25 min in one shot.

I'd guess the lack of weight loss is coming from the the muscle addition.

Drai
- By luvly [gb] Date 07.04.04 14:00 UTC
well done :) rember that muscle burns more cals so you will end up slimmer :) good luck keep going :D
- By Brainless [gb] Date 28.04.04 11:24 UTC
Well yesterday was 8 weeks since I starteed Weight Watchers.

Last week I reached a weight loss of more than 10% of starting weight.

Yesterday I weighed in at 13 Stone 6.5 Pounds, exactly 2 stone less than when I started.

I am pleased with the loss, but putting into perspective this is what I weighed when full term pregnant with both my kids!

It is 4 years since I was last this weight, so not complaining :D

Another 4 stone to go!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 04.05.04 12:41 UTC
Well still dieting merrily, and lost another 2 1/2 pounds, taking me to a loss of 30 1/2 pounds, weighing in at 13stone 4lb.  Maybe I will get to 12 1/2 stone by summer???
- By Jo19 [gb] Date 05.05.04 19:53 UTC
Brainless, you go girl!!

Crumbs, I'm feeling really inadequate now, as diet has gone to pants. I'm doing looooads of exercise though so making progress in one area. :D

Keep it up

Jo
- By Brainless [gb] Date 12.05.04 21:40 UTC
Well I have been putting it off for at least 4 years, but now that I have got going I am determined.

Down to 13stone 1lb yesterday, that is 33 1/2lb gone, and another 50lb to go!
- By Blue Date 13.05.04 08:49 UTC

- By Brainless [gb] Date 18.05.04 12:28 UTC
Todays weigh in, two more mile stones!  Now under 13 stone, and have lost over 2 1/2 stone (36lbs to be precise, since March the 1st). :D

Now at 12stone 12.5lbs it looks like I may get to under 12 1/2 stone earlier than I had hoped.  Might even get there by the 1st of June rather than the half way goal I had set nyself of 1st July.

Will then have less to losse than have already lost. :D
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 18.05.04 12:37 UTC
Well done Brainless! Keep going!
:)
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 18.05.04 13:31 UTC
You have done so well!!   You've been good to stay on the straight and narrow all the time, and obviously you have focused on your goal.

Me - I'm all over the place - lost 7lbs, put on 9lb, lost 9lb, put on 6lbs, and so on....  I'm just under the 14 st now - but hopefully now that I'm back to full health (i hope!!!) , I can start exercising again.  Have started walking the dogs again now!
Margot
- By LJS Date 15.03.04 08:31 UTC
Well they batteries ran out in the scales so can't use them  :D :D

We have though had a non alcohol, non pizza weekend as my husband has been poorly so I should have done quite well so I estimate a 3lb loss ! I will go and buy a battery later on and see if my estimation is right !
- By luvly [gb] Date 15.03.04 13:41 UTC
the lady across the road was a size 12 last week shes now a size 8 , everyone on the street noticed it she does this every few months but she lost so much  ... i just dont know how she does it  im bamboozeld .
shes never out long enough for me to catch her and ask :P i dont think shed tell me her secret anyway :P :P
im on me carrots and celery for brekky and lunch  (the more you eat the more you loose diet), i dont know i feel kind of stimulated although i dont feel like excerising , i am always willing to excerises loads , mmmmmm anyway ill see how i am at the end of the week. hopefuly back in me 10 trousers , then ill feel half decent to try swimming again :D

if your going to have a takeaway then have 2 slices of pizza , its less fatning then a 6 " subway sandwich.
last night i was reading loads of websites some good info from them ,
like go walking or what ever you do first thing on a empty stomach as you will get an after burn kals , when you eat then go walking .. it burns the food first but you wont carry on burning them.
eat 5 or 6 meals <<< healthy small ones i think ;)
drink more then 6 glasses of water to wash away the toxins the fat burning gives off
drink herbal tea it speeds up your metabolism
drink 1 glass of water before your meal as it will speed up digestion
- By luvly [gb] Date 15.03.04 13:54 UTC
write down everyday what excerise  and how long you did then go to this link

http://www.healthstatus.com/cbc.html
fill in your weight in lbs
at the sides of each sport theres times put the length of time you did each  carry on filling each box in then submit it will tell you your total kals burned your aiming to burn off as many kals as you took in :)
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 28.04.04 11:50 UTC
Can I replace the 6 glasses of water with wine?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 28.04.04 15:12 UTC
Only if you allow for the points :D
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.03.04 15:32 UTC
Weighed in at WW today, to find I had lost 7pounds, that is 11 1/2 pounds since 1st or March.  I know the first two weeks are usuallly the best, so expect more modest losses over the weeks to come, but gives a girl a boost.
:D :D
- By mason [gb] Date 15.03.04 15:48 UTC
WoW, thats great, big pat on the back for you, havent you been good :D  Me thinks I know who's gonna get 1st place this week :D  Sarah
- By jeanniedean [gb] Date 15.03.04 16:37 UTC
Very well done 7pounds is great :-)

Jean
- By LJS Date 15.03.04 18:20 UTC
Well done Brainless that is so good :D 7 lbs !!

Well my prediction was nearly right, I lost £3 out my wallet replacing the battery in the scales rather than 3lbs in weight !! :D

I give up no matter what I do ,excercise ,eat low fat healthy diet or have a really bad week and drink lots and eat naughty things I stay the same weight ! :) Never mind I am sure it will start to come off one day ! :D Perhaps some lipo suction may help ! :p
- By Helen.D [gb] Date 15.03.04 18:33 UTC
Well done Brainless. Going to have to get my running shoes out to catch up with you :-D Actually, think I need to concentrate on just "staying on the track" at the moment as I'm getting grease cravings at the moment ...  bacon sarnies, sausage sarnies, fried bread .... mmmmmmm, haven't eaten any yet (apart from the sausage that I "stole" from the Chef at work last night)  but I could inflict serious injuries to any of these, lol
- By luvly [gb] Date 16.03.04 00:35 UTC
so am i but dont we all . at certain times ;)
im stuffin myself with celery and im getting sick of it lol , as long as we try to burn what we eat we should get somewhere :| even if were norty excerise will help :D
- By Lea Date 16.03.04 08:15 UTC

I think it is great all this healthy living. I found a very simple LIFE LONG weight loss programme it is so simple thats why it can be maintained.
3 meals a day no snacking in between except for fruit. Have what you want at meal times and 1 dessert a day (if you love chocolate you can have it as a dessert straight after your dinner). Most important to keep to a minimum refined sugar and don't over do the portion sizes but EAT PLENTY! you may not look like a super model size 8 but hey who intends doing the cat walks this or next year!! GOOD LUCK
- By chels5 [gb] Date 15.05.04 16:18 UTC
hiya, can i just say well done to all of you on diets! you are all doing really well! ive been at ww for a few weeks and finding it really hard to lose any!! i manage .5-1 lb each time, which as im 16 stone isnt a great deal! im not doing major exercise tho as ive got puppies at home, so im mostley busy with them although i do agility 2 nights a weeks so have short bursts then, so my hopes of being able to wear a nice dress to my brother inlaws wedding have sort of gone down the drain! still, slowly coming off has gotto be better than putting on right!?!?!?

- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.05.04 16:32 UTC
I would try to vary what you are eating, or try cutting sown 1 point a day on what you are allowing yourself, and see if that helps, also weigh everything unless it is prepacked.  It is amazing how easyit is to overestimate what your portions actually are.

For instance I always hae 80g of Pasta, which is two small portions, but 40g would not be worth having, butr obviously I count 4 points and not 2.  80g of dry Pasta is only a handful!!!  I bulk out the sauce with mushrooms, Peppers and Onions. Or have a plain salad with it.

Of course everyones metabolism is different,a nd I have actually eaten 1 or 2 points a dya less than my allowance all along.
- By lilylaru [gb] Date 19.05.04 12:15 UTC
i've gone past my goal weight now !

but i've gone through 2 sets of weighing scales which is costing me a fortune - lily decided to pee on my last set whilst i was out, when i came home there was brown liquid gooping out of it...
