just wanting some help or advice - i own two rotties and a boxer puppy who are excellent in every way the thing is now that my dog rottie is nearly two yrs he's quite a big boy now but a big softy, he's excellent with dogs and people but in the last two weeks almost every day i have had to endure people having a go at me and telling me my dogs shouldn't be off the lead cos they are a large breed and basically it is making me hate walking the dogs and i am finding myself putting my big dog on the lead when he has done nothing wrong, i find it hard to understand how you ar meant to continue socialising large breed dogs when everyone is so prejudice against them, i went on a walk today with my friends on the moors near my home and we had 7 dogs altogether and the walkers never batted an eyelid neither did thier dogs, do you think its cos i live in the town? and that people are more worried about their own dogs saftey of course if my dogs were nasty with other dogs then surely i wouldn't let them off the lead? if anyone has any advice for me i would appreciate it i find myself ignoring the peoples abuse but it is getting increasingly difficult as they scream/shout and sometimes kick out at my dogs

You could tie a pink bow around their necks and teach them to 'Bow' on cue when you say "say hello to the nice lady, boys"
I had four G.S.D.'s years ago and had the same problem. If I had my Mum's Papillon with us however people were less hostile as they could see that 'Tiny' hadn't been eaten.
