Hi
I have just called my vet as my Bichon has not eaten anything today which is very unlike her. Her tummy is making some really odd noises and she's very quiet.
The vet said to starve her overnight and then try feeding her a small amount in the morning. I'm just worried coz we have been trying her on Burns food which she just won't eat and she also has antihistamines, oil of evening primrose and alfalfa daily for her allergies (as advised by vet), could this all be proving to much for her little body??, I have just brought some canine d/d from the vet, it's meat and she likes this better than dry, so hopefully that'll work.
Other than that, should I be doing anything else to help her feel better or just leave her be until the morning???
I hate it when she's poorly she looks really sad

Is she drinking?
Hi My Girl
To be honest I haven't watched her all the time so don't know, I would think she has, as she loves her water. I'll keep a close eye on her now.

I don't know Rosie hopefully someone can answer you better but aren't Bichons a small breed? I imagine they'd deteriorate quicker than most so i'd keep an eye on her. But if she's drinking i can't see the harm in waiting till tomorrow.
Hi
Yes she is very small, she seems a bit more perky now so hopefully she's feeling better.
Thanks
Jo

Our Bedlington had been suffering from stomach upsets and colitis since we had her in January. Whenever she had a bad tummy she would go quiet and would not eat for most of the day. She seemed to know when it was ok to eat again. In short, the vets gave her injections, tablets and prescription food (Waltham/Royal Canin Sensitivity) but to no avail. Then last week another forum user suggested a food called Naturediet Lite. It changed her completely in two days! We can not recommend this food highly enough.
It is available in normal petstores. We buy it from the Pets at Home superstore. Naturediet have a website www.naturediet.co.uk which is very detailed about different health problems etc.
It is a wet food and our Bedlington is going absolutely mad over it! We were getting nowhere at the vets and when we heard that this other user had gone through much the same and suggested Naturediet, we knew we had nothing to lose. It is truly wonderful. I suggest you read the health forum entitled "Colitis" and so you know it is not just my word.
Good luck
